Very very nice. Wizard. If I remember right they were a Western Auto in house brand. We had a WA in Perrine where I grew up. What an iconic store. Wish we still had them. Motor sounds great. I’m impressed now when I would have laughed as a kid growing up. The big three of that era were Johnson Evinrude Mercury. (Kiekhaefer) All gone on as well. Much respect for watching after history. Keep them around to show the American spirit of yesteryear. Cheers.
I love the way they intentionally slung the engine of the back of the boat. I'm assuming it was designed like that so it easier to fish over the top of it. Really cool outboard.
Yes, me too. Despite the fact that most people think that OMC came up with the idea with their low boy 9.5hp in 1964, McCulloch had it in 1959 and Clark Troller’s came out in 1937 with a similar design!
They are a little funny looking! Love it though. I have started going through a 1960? McCulloch Wizard 12hp. that the original owner purchased and handed down to his son and grandson. Family owned all this time and Free! Really clean with good compression and spark. Needs the 'gear or cog' at the end of throttle linkage. Any thoughts on where to look for parts? I've got the part number, just don't know where to find one. Thanks
What boat is that on? It's about as fast as my 1980 Sea King 15 on my 14 ft Wards semi v hull with a one person and some gear. Seems mighty and fast for a 7.5 horse.
