I had a 63 P Bass about 40 years ago. It was probably the single most played P bass on the planet. Midway between the pickup and the end of the neck next to the pickguard was a thumb divot worn into the wood that was 1/4" deep. They weren't quite the rare thing they are today; It was stripped, and I had it refin'ed in an ice metallic blue, a little lighter than yours. Of course I wish I still had it.
Nice playing..Beautiful bass..I have a 57 reissue...I thought i was the only one who heard of that band..I still have the original vinyl album, which i purchased at a bargain bin during the 70's

Try putting the metal chrome pickup cover on it, it does something to the tone, many don't know this, having it surrounded in metal with the magnets of the pick up, splits up the tone of each string a tad more. the cover wasn't just for protecting the pick ups. Leo knew this
I always think the great P bass sound comes from not just the instrument but D'Addario flat wound Chromes ECB 81. Once you get used to them nothing else feels right. Great video
@@perivars . Bought it in 65,guy brought it back to store, said he didn't like it. My guitar teacher told me to buy it, think I paid $250.00 for it.Lost it in mid 90's.
I have a 69 Fender Precision w/Jazz Neck at the time custom color, Ocean Turquoise, block inlay on rosewood neck/bought at the music store I worked for in 1969. 2024 and Fender Custom Shop says "Sorry we won't touch it because you don't have a receipt"; although I do have owners manual with name of "E Paxton", only Custom Shop in Colorado is HB Woodsong, Boulder. I thought Fender had control of their channel. I believe HB Woodsong is telling Fender that no receipt, no work. If they would do this to a Senior, think what they'll do to YOU. Buyer Beware.

I think sunburst. It was very hard to tell when i checked. Yes, i like it’s look. The paint that is on goes away pretty easy so it changes faster than it would normally do. Thanks for watching🤩
