Continuing to get the bug ready to hit the road, we spend time getting the old plugs changed and run into more issues with fuel delivery that is indicating we'll need to rebuild the carb next. We clean the fuel pump and back lines along with adding some Seafoam and fresh gas to the tank. Lastly we change the black oil with some fresh Valvoline 10W30.

Nice video, I can't wait to do work like this on mine. The oil on the underside is likely the rear main seal, it means engine out to do but it's not a bad job. Could also be oil cooler seals but it looks to be all over and not to one side.

Hi again, sounding good I don’t know if you have checked your valve clearances always a good idea.

At the time of changing your plugs would have been a good time to do a compression test on the motor. Also, should use high zinc oil like Valvoline VR1

Thanks Mike, I'll look into acquiring a compression tester and yes will change the oil again soon and put some dino zinc 20W50 in too!
