There's a lever on the bottom right-hand side that you push the lever and turn the chute around to where you want it,,I don't know if you knew that or not but if it works for you keep it like that I'm going to try my like that
Good question; This has been in my family since new, and I received it in the mid 80s and have not touched a thing other than belts and oil so only two options: it was assembled incorrectly from the start, or it was serviced and incorrectly re-assembled. I may look at correcting over the summer, but this has not caused any issue for me.
