You don't want to own it, as unless you have a few million to burn, as you can't afford it. Shit, I currently could not afford what my mint VW Westy is worth, in todays market. The catch is that anything made the mid 90s is becoming very ex$pensive...
Bizzarrini is making a comeback they made Bizzarrini 5300 gt revival corsa this year only 24 were made. There is only 1 video of it on RU-vid so far and its on Yutaka Yamagishi channel. Looks absolutely beautiful. Ferrari has competition.
I'm 28 years old and happened to have read a whole book about Giotto Bizzarrini a few years back after my dad persuaded me to do so. I personally think it's a pure blessing to have learned so much about a car marque that so few people know about and the importance of preserving historic car knowledge through generations. Before collecting and/or racing cars it's good to know a bit of car history: that way you understand the difference between a normal production line vehicle and a hand built sports car. The first is a tool and the latter is just pure emotion wrapped in a a body shell. Great video! P.S: I think Giotto was also involved in the development of the wondeful Iso Grifo
Bruce Meyer is, without any doubt, the coolest guy in the car hobby. His collection is world-class; in this video you can see some of his other cars, including the Briggs Cunningham No. 2 LeMans Corvette and the C6.R class-winning LeMans car. But what impresses most is his enthusiasm for sharing his love for these cars. They are not hidden in a warehouse somewhere but present at all kinds of events. I have never seen a video featuring Mr. Meyer where he does not come across as totally likeable--after all, this is the man who persuaded the Pebble Beach Concours to add hot rods. The Bizzarrini video is just so perfect, reflecting both the passion of the Italian maker but also that of the American collector. And that small block Chevy sound...ahh!
It was 117 degrees the day we filmed this piece and he was driving a furnace around the track. Smiled the whole time, never complained, even when emerging out of the car completely soaked (or when we asked him to wait while we made adjustments to camera). I would strongly campaign for a "how to be Bruce" course early in one's academic career. :)
He is on the Board of Directors of the Petersen Museum and I was just reading about the Rodeo Drive Concours--which he directs as well! For somebody who used to sell candles he has done alright...
Someone should tell Bruce Meyer that a propane fuel kit for a 327 can replace the four carbs, so they can be preserved, and more importantly, so he can register it in a decade, despite being an ICE engine car. I wonder how long I will be allow to register my 91 Vanagon Westy, here in the West Coast.
Bruce Meyer is one of the few guys with a multi million dollar car collection who actually shows his cars in public and is truly passionate about his cars. For those of you who haven't yet seen it, watch some of the videos about his collection. Its truly fascinating. Great job again petrolicious.

I had the pleasure of driving on a rally with Bruce last year through the Arizona desert. He was in an E-type semi-lightweight. I was in a Renault Alpine. Stringing together the corners like pearls on a necklace... it was an unforgettable experience. And, he is a man who can truly showcase the potential of a car! Short of one race-spec 2.7 Carrera RS, there was nothing other than his E-Type lightweight that could keep up with us in the canyons! If nothing else, it was a pleasure driving with ya', Bruce! :)
Mr Meyer has a world class car collection, he genuinely loves cars. This car is very cool and beautiful and sounds great 60s Italian styling is best era for styling
We are so fortunate to have enthusiasts like Mr Meyer who share their vehicles with the public. Love the story and history of this car. Thank you Mr Meyer and Petrolicious.
I feel the same thing is going to happen with the Callaway Corvette team. They never won lemans though, even though they lead the race for a few hours. Such a great car and team that I think died with its owner.
GUYS GUYS GUYS. Petrolicious is a fantastic, incredible channel, with videos like Sterling Moss' Mercedes and David Hobbs interview, this channel needs more support. Their subscriber count has been around 570k for ages, because no one is sharing their content. SHARE! SHARE THIS BEAUTIFUL CAR LOVE! These cars and these wonderful owners and characters aren't going to be around forever!
When I was a teenager I was fascinated with the Bizzarrini 5300 GT. This video took me back to those days, and is the most beautiful Bizzarrini video I've seen. Well done, guys.
The fact that you can those sort of sounds through a video makes me wonder what more there is to be heard! It's great to seen these types of cars being driven and brought out for people to see them. Amazing work, once again! Keep it up!
Just WOW. Thanks to this channel a lot of us became a car enthusiasts like the gentleman in the video. Love the sound, love the look, love the chassis, LOVE THE PETROLICIOUS!
Awesome video as always! I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce just last month and had a tour of his fabulous collection. He is just as much of a true gentleman as he is an automotive enthusiast! That car is just as beautiful in person as it is in the video and man does it ever sound good! Beautiful work there gentleman! Jim
What a beautiful automobile with a great story. I've heard of them in passing but have never seen one in person. It's great to see someone like Bruce Meyer has one instead of some investment firm or overly private collector.
THE most beautiful Italian coachwork of it's time imo. Never heard a small block sounding like that! Drooled over these for years since I finally investigated the roots of my childhood Matchbox Iso Grifo.. Am a huge fan of Giotto Bizzarrini and his extraordinary gift at designing a multitude of car designs.
I lol'd when Bruce said he doesn't have a lot of cars - may be true compared to some of his friends, but he absolutely went for quality over quantity. This is a fantastic car, even more striking in person when you stand next to it and it's below your hip
I can assure you from the deepest of my soul, you DID make difference. That passion you invest to not solely satisfy yourself but all enthusiasts not having the chances you have, is the true spark of divinity in our existence. And this spark is free from religious or political beliefs.
I love these cars, I saw once in a museum a Bizzarini and it was fall in love immediately! After that for one year every weekend I went there to see her again and again.
I listened to Bruce Meyer (sp?) give a little speech to the Lime Rock Park Insiders' Club this past Labor Day during the Lime Rock Historic race weekend. He talked about some of the other cars he owns, and the one he doesn't but wants to get; the '56 Aston Martin DBR1. Bruce is as sweet and gentle a man in person as he seems in the video.
This is by far my favorite car of all time. This content is pure gold thank you so much to everyone involved for creating and sharing this beautiful story. This car is pure brilliance and I’m so glad it is held by someone who gives it life again. Best wishes to all.

Fabulous car beautifully captured on film and sound. And what a sound! Looks born out of function make for a great looking machine, just as it it does with the 250GTO. Thanks must go to Bruce Meyer for sharing such a rare car with us. Great to see it being used properly.
My God!, this video will probably go down in youtube history as a work of art. I have seen several custodians of classics share their love and passion and their favorites in the collection, however, this man is a purist among purists. He understates his knowledge and reading but he probably shared more about this ultra exclusive car than some of the others, Kudos Petrolicious, in this day and age where everything is becoming automated and sterile and I am living in increasing fear of what I love and have passion for dying due to automation, your videos are the last gasp of hope for me every day that it is worth every cent of one's life to have passion for the past and the very best of the automobile Thanks
Love this story about great cars that only very little people get to know, thanks for sharing this storys Petrolicious! and congratulations to the owner.
Me, being Tuscan from Livorno in Italy, still can't believe 2 of the greatest geniuses in motorsport history, were born here! One of course is Giotto Bizzarrini, the other, Aurelio Lampredi...
As we can readily see, Bruce Meyer is a rather tall man, and to see him behind the wheel of this fabulous Bizzarrini GT is a remarkable feat. He manages to tame this front-mid American V8-engined Italian styled racecar within the proportions and constraints of its gorgeous design. Was it designed for a smaller driver? Probably. Yet he coaxes the power and speed out of this beast with determination and adroit control on the track. What an impressive and passionate enthusiast and driver. Cheers to Bruce Meyer and Giotto Bizzarrini!
Oh my God! That is just maybe the greatest car ever. What a beautiful beast. And it's being driven, which means we get to hear that great angry sound...
If it weren't for so many restrictions, I'm sure they would be. As unpopular as this opinion may be, I adore the Fisker Karma for how fluid it's design is. It's a modern car that is one of those that you just need to see in person to appreciate it's beauty.
A favorite of mine. Got to sit in, many times, but no rides, in what was King Leopold's car in NY at a shop where my brother worked in 1980. Very tight seating at 6' tall, wish I could have had a ride. Did get ride in a few cool ones, Lotus Esprit, early 60s Aston, Fiat 500 and up, Iso Grifo, Iso Rivolta, and my brothers 72 Alfa with an aluminum V8.
This is the kind of car I would put a lawn chair in front of & just stare at it for hours before driving it each time. A nice cuban, some Cognac & good stories...that's the life!
Great piece, love the car, so appreciate the perspective of the owner. Like any kid from the 70s who grew up on Speed Racer, this these things had my heart at first instance [in pictures]. Seeing a couple at Amelia Island over the years has only solidified the lust. Maybe my favorite marque/cars ever. Plus... underdog/outcast status! Bravo!
When people ask me what my favorite car is, and I answer 1965 Bizzarini 5300 gt. I see this big question mark over their head. I have some cool classics that many car nuts are jealous about, but this is like the holy grail.
