This is the Winningest Ferrari Ever
Would you care to guess what the most winning Ferrari chassis (in period) in history is? It's not an ex-Formula One car and it isn't an Indy racer. It is chassis number #0672, this 625/250 TRC. Ordered new from Ferrari in 1957 by Mr. John von Neumann, an accomplished racer in his own right, along with another 625 TRC both fitted with 2.5L ex-Le Mans four-cylinders. John's assistant was Mr. Richie Ginther, who ran John's stable of race cars and also competed along with John, effectively creating a very winning race team.
After a few races, John ordered the first 250TR engine (#0750TR) and had Richie shoehorn the big V-12 into the diminutive TRC (and this is the only TRC with a factory V-12). So how successful was it? Well, it won the Grand Prix of Mexico and races in Laguna Seca, Salt Lake City, Riverside, Nassau, Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, Pomona, Sacramento, and the list continues. It took on all challengers and frequently beat them. The car was so successful in fact, that even after the car was sold in 1961 to Mr. Otto Zipper it continued winning into the 1962 season with Ken Miles at the helm! Imagine a top tier, five-year old race car winning today! It was simply a state of the art combination of the gorgeous, light TRC body and a strong, reliable three-liter engine.

This appeared from left field. I can't explain how wonderful it sounds or how glorious it looks. There is something about the 1950's where all the racing factories turned out, over that period the most gorgeous sports~racing cars ever seen.. this is simply beautiful. What a joy. Wonderful setting, light and fabulous film-work. Thank you again for another lovely work. WF

I love Ferraris. They give you that feeling of rich heritage and history. Very romantic cars. You feel like a character in an old James Bond movie escaping in a get away vehicle. So much power and prowess in the purr of the engine. The dashboard and gauges all look so authentic and vintage. Steering wheels, gear shifter/knob... it all comes together so perfectly.

I don't know which part to love more. All parts are like art. The body, that engine or the interior. You could just look at each part for hours. How come Italians always have been so good at making beautiful things? Specially cars and mechanical parts. They can make the most dull part to a beautiful art object.

It's a shame more people don't understand why certain Marques are sought after more than others. People only care about how much the vehicle costs. They don't understand what makes the brand the way it is. Ferrari will always be the pinnacle of vehicles. So much pedigree associated with it. This Ferrari is a perfect example. Kudos to the people who are care takers to these magnificent rolling pieces of artwork. Magnificent!

Bruce Meyer is far too modest. He has one of the most sophisticated collections around two things: design elegance, even if it's a deuce coupe, and awesome performance. What a guy! And what a car this one is. I remember, as a kid, hearing these cars run at the 57 Sebring races. I was not yet 10 years old and they totally blew my mind. The 3-liter Ferrari V-12, in its era, was nigh-onto unbeatable. They made 300+/- HP, and they sounded brutally divine. Amazing sounds!

Probably because most of their other videos showcase a vehicle that you could fathom owning someday, but we all know this one is out of reach. And the other videos tend to tell the story of a labor of love, whereas this gentleman just put in a bid. I very much appreciate the video, but I'll agree that it was a little different for me too.

I have to agree. To me the Petrolicious videos are best when they interview a car owner that is focused on one "dream car" that they've chosen to spend their money, time, and effort on. The Bruce Meyers and Jay Lenos of the car hobby are incredibly important and are great caretakers of some amazing cars, but at the same time their interests seem to be spread out over large collections and I don't see the same passion.
@Dgannt
