I didn’t know that the first digital camera was developed for the scientific mission to Mars. Such a great example of space technology that later becomes a part of our everyday life.

MAN This was GOOD! The evolution of our affair with Mars. That story of getting that first picture is simply amazing. I still scratch my head at Curiosity's "selfie" picture how it was taken and sorry but every time I see that official picture of Pluto, I don't see a heart. I actually see Disney's Pluto.

Pluto (the dog) exists because of Pluto (the planet).

Pluto: The geology of ice. So it's pretty much all ice. Could Pluto be a comet that settled into a stable orbit?

“We’ve been looking at Mars the way artists and writers imagine it. A place of desert and jungle inhabited by monsters and of course, *beautiful women* “ :) “Well I’m happy to say they’re WRONG” :(

Why are you always pointing out stuff that people know about 10,000 years ago that they just discovered it and that smart people people thousands of years ago more than we do now but they're so smart

Specifics there, specifics. What did people know about the planets 10,000 years ago? Evidence. References.

Today's lesson is star names. Ready? Can-O-pus. Long, accented "o". Star names are Arabic, not English and they're pronounced weirdly. Constellations are even stranger. Some, like Ophiuchus, have a primary and secondary accent. It's first syllable has the minor accent and the u has the primary accent. O-fee-YOU-kus. Truly strange. But it sounds right after a month or so.

Man, those Curiosity crowds were pretty pathetic. Landers have touched down on Mars for 41 years at this time, so nothing extraordinary happened.

I think its a deep long remembered memory from our dna,of our real home where human life had been incubated abd lived for millions of years,they were dying because their planet was,tge solar system had been through an apocalypse ,there was a sister planet of Mars it was pretty close by ,akot closer than earth is,but on the other side farthee out ,the asteroid belt hadn't been made yet,and mercurey hadn't been drawn to the sun yet,as it was the core of Mars sister plabet!and earsth moon came from the second part of this planers storey,it was,struck and its outer layers blasted away ,leaving very little outer crust remaing,remains, was hit and the layers left to orbit between juouter and mars,but the core was ejected twordsearth ,it hit it and the parts that blasted away a second time became the moon,but also a large ball of molten nickel from Mercury's core dripped away nade by heat ,and drawn by gravity ,into earth it was molten and the molton iron it fell through coated its outer layer with iron,then as it continued to fall compressed by pressure pushing nickel and iron together ,then it hit earths water level underground water level,and as it fell through water ,it flash cooled it enough to forge it into a iron bickek dynamo magnetic metal that fell into the molton centre ,this then made it rotate within a plasma feild ,and created electromagbatisim on a karge scale,the remains core was sent inwards after deflecting off earth dirwctly towards venus,it just glanced by ,it as it past ,it stopped its rotation ,and pulled it back around to the side it past it ,this then kept spinning in opposite direction,know spinng backwards is all reverse forces created by a planets normal clockwise rotation,it keeps everything on the planet ,as normal spin allows things to leak away into space,venus kee I s everything, which just builds up near surface as pressure and heat,then the rest of the core ended up in its present locatio,n,location,, this was what happen to planet,vulcan.

We'll just leave this fantasy alone.....good story though.

I wonder if the NASA people are watching the CGI moves as the lander lands?
@RockinRobbins13
@RockinRobbins13 2 года назад
Yes, telemetry from the spacecraft are animated in real time, showing the speed, angle of approach, status of landing systems, altitude, all those numbers that can't be understood together and instantly, are demonstrated in their simulation so they know what the spacecraft is doing. A speedometer on a car is CGI. Do you think it's fake? How do you know how fast you are driving? When the cop tells you how badly you were speeding? Sheesh.
