Hey there, bike enthusiasts! Welcome back to Motorcycle Rewind, where we're taking on a very special project in honor of our late friend Howard. This Honda CB77 SuperHawk isn't just any old bike; it's a symbol of friendship, a tribute to a fellow rider, and a way to make a difference.
We got this rusty gem from Howard's collection, and now it's our mission to restore it to its former glory. Thanks to Tracy's SuperHawk super stash, we've got all the parts we need to turn this vintage motorcycle into a road warrior once more.
Join us this episode as we dive into the intricacies of the CB77, focusing on the small details that make all the difference. Watch as we tackle repairs on the chain guard and beat that stubborn dent out of the side cover. With the right tools and a lot of heart, we're giving this bike a new lease on life.
But it doesn't stop there. This build is about more than just reviving a classic; it's about honoring Howard's legacy. Once the bike is ready to hit the road again, we'll be selling it and donating all the proceeds to charity in Howard's name. It's our way of keeping his spirit alive and passing on the love for vintage motorcycles that he shared with us.
So grab a wrench, and come along on this touching journey as we pour love, sweat, and respect into the Honda CB77 SuperHawk. It's more than a makeover; it's a labor of love, a tribute to a friend, and a way to give back to the community.
Stay tuned to Motorcycle Rewind, and witness how the little things in the garage can make a big impact in the world. And remember, this isn't just a restoration; it's a celebration of friendship, motorcycles, and the spirit of giving

Excellent work. The CB77 was my dream bike way back when I was a teenager. Many thanks. You're great.

Looking good. May I suggest that you look for a sand bag to aid in easing the dents out, it may help you out. 😎

The Superhawk was such an iconic design. The one has been fun.

Amazing transformation! The remainder of the work is what's subject to the 80/20 rule (90/10?) aka the devil lives in the details. The changes won't be big from 6 feet away, but when you sit on the bike, or go for a ride, you're gonna know why you did the work (or that you forgot something you have to go back and fix). Nice job!!!

When I was a kid a friend of my fathers has just bought a used Honda 305 Dream in black. It looked brand new to me and It was beautiful to my untrained eye. He paid $300 for it. I think this was sometime in the 60's.

A leather sandbag is ideal for doing that kind of work and also a hardwood cone shaped mallet. D.

It's coming together nicely. I don't love the mufflers.... they're a bit too short for my liking. It's all about the classic lines. I like my mufflers to extend beyond the wheel hub (or at least beyond the rear axle) but everyone has their own preferences so it's smart to let the next owner figure that out.

I like them a little longer also. These were cheap and local. Plus I wanted to keep the others. I always loved the Superhawk design. Thanks for watching.

Coming along nicely these predate me by a bit but you are lucky they have lasted in the UK that would be a pile of dust by now.

I have a cb77 myself and i would like to know how do you adjust spring for the kick starter mechanism?
@motorcyclerewind
@motorcyclerewind 6 месяцев назад
Before you install the side case you need to turn the kick shaft clockwise to stop and push the kick lever forward so the dots/zeros line up then slip the lug onto the shaft. This will place the kick lever at the correct angle for your foot to not ride on the kick lever as you ride. If you took the parts off the case you may have the spring installed reversed. Hope this helps

Except for the exhaust, it looks just like the 305 Superhawk I used to own. Great job so far. Can't wait for the final product. Where are you located? I would like to drop by to see your other bikes. Take care. Ken
