Since I am 72 years old I remember various Chevrolet cars that had the two speed power glide automatic transmission. This transmission was developed by Chevrolet in the early years of automatic transmissions to be a lower cost transmission for the lower cost Chevrolet cars. The power glide transmission was designed to be very basic and simple and get the job done.
