The Coronet's 1966 426 Wedge engine, 4-speed trans, K-frame and lower front suspension is ready to be lifted into the frame on Monday. It will be installed the way the factory would have done it. In the video you will catch a few things like the chrome wheels, chrome thermostat housing, 426 valve cover stickers that don't belong. Those details will be worked out and are temporary. As a bonus there is some footage of a 800hp Durango conversion being done at the shop. The original Mr. Norm Headers were fixed up blasted and high temperature powder coated for reuse. I will post Part 2 reassembly in two weeks. And the Engine Break-In will be happening around then so be sure to look for new videos soon.

A comment on the Mr. Norm headers. When I moved to Michigan in the late 80s, I bought a home from an older hot-rodder. He shared a Mr. Norm story related to a Dodge Super Bee he bought new in the late 60s. It had the big 440 motor and he would race it occasionally and in day Mr. Norm was one of the few places in the mid-West that had a chassis dyno. He decided to drive over to Chicago and get a set of their headers on the car and look to see what level of HP gain could be achieved over the stock "hi-flow" cast iron exhaust manifolds. They checked the HP to the rear wheels before switching over to the header exhaust system, and found they gained 100 HP to the rear wheels after the swap. Not sure what else was done to the exhaust system besides the headers, but apparently these headers were reasonably effective. Probably similar to the ones you have.

Nice solid car to restore and very rare. I'm guessing 450- 500 horsepower.
