I have a 68 Coup. I had the same issue once I pulled the carpet. In my case the front floor pans needed to be replaced so I worked with a friend to get that done, the rear was very nice, only wire wheel and sanding required. After the metal was repaired and scrubbed both front and back clean, I used POR as the final foundation before laying the new carpet. I installed a very thick mass back carpet which took about 4 hours to install correctly. In short, everything came out great but it was a ton of work. Only people who take the time to do stuff like you are doing can truly appreciate it. This is what love looks like.

Completely agree and when you do the work, you know it is done the way you want it. I will go back and do a floor pan replacement eventually anyway, but not for awhile so I had to stop the cancer. I dont like that the previous person used self-tapping screws but that goes back to my first statement 🤣.

@@WhitetailGarage Once you get there make sure to apply something like POR to keep the metal nice. You are doing a good job. Keep the faith.

I really like the repair you did on the back seat back, shows a practical / common sense ingenuity. Thanks for sharing that fix.

I completely remodeled my 1968 Mustang myself including recovering the seats myself. I put TMI 1966 Pony seat covers in mine and they came out great.

Thanks, I’m gathering information concerning the seats as I’ll be doing this soon, haven’t watched your carpet vid yet but don’t intend glue-ing anything to the floor, moisture always seems to get underneath it and rot the floor pan, most European convertibles MG etc have clip in carpet so you can easily remove the centre sections and let the air get to the floor, unfortunately the Ford carpet comes in on piece so I shall be looking at possible alterations, incidentally despite the clip out carpet MG fitted a thick bituminous substance to their floors which resulted in the same damage you suffered on your car, although luckily it cleaned up nicely, I usually just bung the carpet on top of a rust free painted floor, however this does nothing for heat insulation or sound deadening so can’t recommend it ! Helpful vids 👍

Not sure the color, it came painted when I bought it and it isn't a factory color. Considering going red....

Extremely disappointing that you didn't film any portion of actually working on the car floor. Talk talk talk about plans but not showing the wire brush work, applying paint, etc. Spinning around with the camera stick at the beginning of the video almost made me ill with motion sickness. Hint hint. During seat cover replacement - buy some lights for the garage. Video was so dark from 12:00 - 15:45 mark that I couldn't see what you were doing.

Well, I appreciate the feedback. The gopro doesn't do well in low light and I use that for the high speed. Sometimes it is hard to grab decent footage while hammering through the work. For me, these are not really "how-to" videos and more just what I worked on and my best to show what and how I did it. Basically if you were hanging out in garage with me.
