1966 Starr County Farm Workers' Strike 

In 1966, hundreds of Texan agricultural workers initiated a strike in Starr County in response to plummeting wages and deteriorating working conditions. The strikers collaborated with the National Farm Workers Association to organize a march from South Texas to Austin to protest at the State Capitol.
