1966 Week 11 - Bears vs Packers 

If today’s NFL officials called the games in the 60’s, the Packers defenses would have over 100 yards of penalties in each game and probably 2 or 3 players ejected. The Packer defenses in the Lombardi years, while hard hitting, were never known as dirty.

Green Bay's defense slammed the door on the Bears. Sayers got almost nothing. Packers hitting on all cylinders. Packers look well prepared for this game.

A hard fought defensive battle the Bears played a tough game but lost to the eventual first ever Super Bowl Champions 13-6

Lots of great players on either team: Sayers, Arnett, Bull, Marconi: what a backfield for the Bears! A veteran at QB for both teams, Starr of the Pack and Bukich of the Bears, with two vets with even a few more years experience as back ups, Bratkowski for Starr and Wade for Bukich, should either get hurt. Packers defense overall just the better of the two teams. I'd say some on the Bears were getting long in the tooth by 1966, like Doug Atkins, Larry Morris and Joe Fortunato, and Bill George already had moved on to the Rams, replaced by Butkus in 1965.
