An outstanding 1967 73’ Custom-Built Long-Distance, Ocean Crossing, Flush Deck Cruiser, well known as a “little ship”, is now on the market! Please contact us for additional information and to arrange a viewing - Rob C: 250-327-4572 or E: robert@calibreyachts.ca
Built in California USA, this custom 73 ft yacht was built from a vision that Mr. Weinberg had and then collaborated with a well-respected Naval architect George Moore. Together they designed and built a very strong, comfortable, offshore and safe vessel. There was no expense sparred as to what went into her. As an example, she has a 6-inch-thick fiberglass hull, fin stabilizers, 3 staterooms, large aft entertaining cockpit and could be viewed as a mini-ship. She has been lovingly cared for over the years and is in exceptional mechanical condition to ensure she offers the very finest experience for guests on board. Pioneer has had 4 owners since construction. She has been cruising the Pacific Northwest, down as far as Mexico and has crossed over to Hawaii. While in Hawaii, her beauty caught the attention of Hollywood and she starred in a few movies with Harrison Ford and Robert Wagner’s series. Now Pioneer is looking for new owners and to take you out on amazing adventures.

I've watched about ten of Richard's presentations and this is absolutely the first one with a number of classless attacks against him. Jealous crowd. He doesn't deserve that, he comes across as sincere and passionate about the product he sells. Compare him against "NautiStyles", especially the female and she thinks she is the best thing since sliced bread. Lousy presenter and lack of product knowledge. She's the type that buys expensive clothes, makes the video and then returns the clothing for a refund.

The presenter is a good salesperson. Tries to put YOU inside the boat, talks about relaxation, comfort, holidays, etc. Another words gets to your emotions where you can see yourself relaxing on the deck with a glass of fine wine ploughing through the water, wind in your hair and not a care in the world. Subtle selling.

Not just replacement parts because as you say very often they would not be available and you would need to replace the entire unit (that Radar came straight of Noah's Ark) but running cost on a boat that age would be far higher than a modern yacht as well.

She is a lovely old girl with some great bones. She obviously needs some significant upgrades to the electronics, lighting, galley and such, and I am sure there are some unpleasant, expensive surprises waiting for the next owner on a boat that large and that old. But for the right owner, who is not afraid to open the checkbook and put in the necessary upgrades/retrofitting, she has excellent potential. Cool boat.

6in thick fiberglass. Bet that was an interesting request in 1967.
@c5back9
@c5back9 4 года назад
zhp500: perhaps not as odd as some might think. Glass hulls were thicker in those days than what we have today. Many production boats this size might have had 3-4 inches of glass in a good bit of the hull anyhow. Given this was being custom built as a blue water boat for long distance transits on all seas, and for an owner of considerable means, the idea of adding a couple inches to make her tougher makes sense. Hauling her out for her survey is going to be something though.

Low hours is a myth for fragile boaters. For every boater who is in the least bit competent there are 50 boaters who ruin their tampons every 100 boating hours. Modern engines can easily have 20,000 hour half-lives and people who have no business on the water fret about them having 700 hours as if the things are about to blow like Hiroshima. It's a fair weather vessel. Caught in a bad storm, with those big pieces of glass - unless they are Lexan or tempered laminate, but the hurricane-resistant variety - would scare the hell out of me. If the mullions of the windows under that wood is not steel, they could break under the onslaught of a massive wave in a storm. I have crossed the Atlantic (3x) and the Mediterranean (2x) on a ship. I have experienced WEATHER. In this boat one or two of those would have scared the living daylight out of me.

A boat this old can you during a refit add bow n stern thrusters and rear docking/steering accommodations
@bigg2phillips480
@bigg2phillips480 4 года назад
The only thing i worry about is wiring and hoses. When they get that old they become a constant problem. This comes from 35 years experience.

If you are looking at an older boat, you have to look past the slick and shiny paint jobs and woodwork. Any boat owner must be good at all building trades. Lounging around the fly bridge slamming back those little umbrella drinks is all well and good sitting at the dock, but when something goes wrong, it'll be when you are 30 miles offshore and by yourself. You'd better know how to fix it, or how to stay afloat.

Out of your mind going offshore in that boat. Keep safe, stay in puget sound

OK - I'm 73 - but the idea of remodeling this boat is tatimont to committing a mortal sin. May your pecker fall off if you would touch this beauty.

I think I'd like to change the stainless steel/crome interior fittings to brass, but it would be a pain to maintain.

Maybe...but she still has 50 plus year mechanicals, plumbing and electrics (unless refitted recently) ......a sensitive refit/refurbish/ now and give her a new life, or keep her as is, until she becomes uneconomical to maintain.

@@SuperSetright That depends. How solid are the connections, wiring still well insulated and Can U still Get PARTS. Sometimes U might still want to update if u want to use the boat for a long time. Stainless Steel wears like a tank. I am still using some of my stainless as well as cast iron cookware I had since I was a teenager. I'm 60 now. By the way, that garbage can port sounds like a good idea. That would be tight up my alley to have something break and make a Mell of a Hess in front of the wheelhouse. 🆘️🗣÷*|♤¿●●○○●ps!!#🚑🛥💸🧹🧹🧼🧽🐾🐾🍌🧼🧽🧽. I even hoisted my hiney up into the wheelhouse after putting my coffee down on the top step then hanging on to the chart desk then retrieving my coffee cup. Gifted Klutz here. Lol. Sometimes.

Man, I'm looking at a boat that hasn't been updated since 1967. The galley needs a complete. I wouldn't take this out of sight of shore until all the electronics and engine controls have been updated too. Great bones, but a money pit otherwise...…..

Nothing really wrong with her. You want an ultra modern kitchen and updates buy a modern boat with no character. This one will outlast the others.

I'd love this boat and at 1:49 I'd love to put a hot tub right there nothing fancy an inflatable one would do just fine but two table to hold some wine glasses and some cheese and just stare at the sunset and relax but it's gonna be 20 to 30 years before I can afford this but one day I hope a boat like this still exists because this style is the best style nothing new nothing to fancy old classy and stylish is my kind of cruise. new modifications maybe a humidor and some wine coolers but that's it nice bar ooh I'm just melting in my couch just thinking about it I'd love on the ocean I love the ocean someday I want one that can fit a submarine like from U-boat worx they do some great stuff one day. one day man!

"I prefer analog guages" means you have to update ALL the electronics...nothing wrong with a classic boat, but that just means pretty much everything needs updating.
@frankmayer139
@frankmayer139 4 года назад
Analog gauges are best, okay, they could be updated so let them be displayed on an LCD screen. With analog gauges you can tell everything is alright with just a glance. All gauges at 12:00, all is well. No need to think about numbers, but they're there if you need them.
