Sorry to hear about your mom. Hope she heals up well. Takes long time when we get older. Funny about taking her keys. Had to do the same with my mom. Used a story that my vehicle was broken and could I borrow hers until I got mine fixed. She of course said yes. Thankfully her memory was also as bad as her driving so whenever she would mention about her car I would remind her she "recently" let just loaned me her car until I got mine fixed. Eventually she just forgot her car. She LOVED to drive. Nice Mustang. Look forward to the teardown. FAMILY FIRST! 👍
Mr. Richard, Miss Theresa.... Family first, family always, please do not feel the need to apologize. We get it, and tje faithful will always be here but mom and family must always come forst. I am very grateful to hear that mom is on the mend, and sounds like a force to reckoned with lol. I know she may not be able to street drive... but after watching you, I'd bet a nickel she still go A to B. That Mustang is GORGEOUS! If I need to have the tranny rebuilt for my old Tbird, I kniw where I will be sending it to be in amazing hands. Much live and prayers from my family to yours.🙏💜
Fortunately you now have the time to assist your mother at a time when she needs you so much and give her the support she needs to get through rehab and back to her own home as soon as possible.
So sorry that your Mum has had a fall. You’re right Richard, your Mum comes first. I’m sure she’s cherished as all Mums should be. Forget the motors and look after her.
Brings back a lot of memories! On Single exhaust system with the factory Y pipe, we use to remove the tail housing to remove and install C 4 transmissions. It was still tight space, but it worked. I remember I forgot to install a drum seal, and I didn't have reverse and high gear. Please tell Annie I say hello. Haha.! Thanks again for the video.
Dad will be 80 in January. We did some repairs on a 68 XR7 a few years back. He did the breaks & fixed the leak on the FMX. I did the header gaskets, engine repair, and front end work. I won't touch the interior in those. Everything is brittle. But he drove it down the road with 1 finger. These guys get these "restored" cars at top dollar then we have to put another 3-5k into them because it's lipstick on a pig.
I had a broken hip when I was 4 years old and I can tell you this, it wasn't the fall that caused the hip to break, the hip broke and that's what caused the fall!!! Mine broke in 1967 and I laid in the Hospital bed 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 9 weeks with both legs in the air and the only parts of my body that was on the bed was my shoulders and my neck and head were on the pillow and when I was released from the hospital I went through physical therapy for 6 months to get the muscles in both legs built up to walk again!!!! So remember, it wasn't the fall that caused the hip to break!!!!!
I over haul many of the c 4 at the dealership where I worked also you don't see the old fix Trans any more did lots of them to 3 out of ten would have a cracked case at the support both were dam good trannys .hope your mama helps up good my mother did the same fell down and they had to put a pin in her hip area Good to see you all back .sam
Those Sniper kits are super cool for those who are looking to eliminate a carburetor and the smell of gas fumes. Engines simply work way better with fuel injection from cold starts all the way up to high temperatures and altitude. I can remember the days of having to work the gas pedal and brakes together when you had the A/C on, its hot outside, you just came back to start up a heat-soaked engine or a cold start up and having to experience all of the variables.
Prayers o the family and Mom. We used to think the C4 was a bit weak, but compared to a lot of what has happened since then it sure looks a lot better.
Totally agree on the safety lock timing!! Ford folks call those headers Tri Y. Patterned after the ones Shelby used. Family first, glad you're back with a video. Probably keeps your minds off things!
Awesome Mustang, some new carpet would really set that interior off. The fold down rear seat brings back memories of camping out in one as a youngster. Very sorry to hear about your Mom.
When my brother took our dad’s keys and the car, it was a few days before he noticed. My parents were living in an independent living senior situation. He called my brother & asked about his.car. My brother just said it had been stolen from the parking lot and management had filed a police report. Dad just replied, “Oh… well bring me a big bag of Whoppers when you come over.”
You know, I think that is a very good idea. My mom does not know her car is gone yet and I think that’s what we’re going to tell her thank you for the advice. I was sweating on even telling her.
We were a bit more lucky. Having only Social Security Mom could either have her car or do a bit of shopping, and she loved shopping. She already realized her mind was slipping and that maybe she shouldn't be driving so after we agreed to drive her wherever she needed to go she gave the car to my niece who needed it for work. We lost her a few years later
What would be the best way of getting a quote on a potential job? I have a 2017 F150 4x4 and I think 6th gear is causing an issue. I was wondering if your shop is able to pull the transmission and take a look/rebuild it.
I found you here after watching your Ford C6 teardown on the old channel. I decided to watch a C6 video as I sat down to eat lunch at work. I couldn't believe what I was watching. Did you knock down a six pack of Red Bulls before you started?!? I started laughing half way through the video because I literally could not believe what I was seeing. You managed to tear down a C6 completely AND explain what you were doing AND show tips and tricks ALL BEFORE I COULD FINISH A 7-PIECE CHICKEN STRIP MEAL! Did you used to be on a Nascar pit crew?! That was probably the most impressive display of mechanic's skill that I've ever seen and I've been in the car business for over two decades. Amazing. Oh....and to those that don't know the reference you were referring to in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WxgBXJM6zJ8.html
I think so too it would make it a really nice driver on the highway. We do a lot of overdrive swaps and it just really makes the older cars so much better for cruising town. Jumping car meets everything about it just makes it so much better.
