67 Grand Prix 428 Convertible, automatic on the floor, posi-traction, bucket seats and console. Black top and interior. Nice first car for a 16 year old in Wisconsin. Unfortunately rear quarters were rusty and had no idea at the time how low production numbers were for that one year, really cool body with the 428. Really liked the GTO style tail lights and the front turn signals behind the steel front panel. That was a blast to drive.
Awesome car!I had a 67 catalina in high school.Same color combo with the 400 motor.Would roast the tires with 4 people in the car.Great memories.Enjoy the ride.
beautiful Grand Prix I love these full size Pontiacs I have a 69 Bonneville convertible 428 Butler motor now it's a 467 unbelievable power these Pontiacs can make and what's great about yours and mine is nobody sees it coming they don't expect with these brutes can do especially in a full size car I love it great job
Damned amazing car, love the Cortez Gold on that car (if that is the Pontiac name for that Gold). I was going for a similar big car ride with a 69 Buick Electra Convertible back in the 90s, 430 with Stage 1 heads and Nitrous 150 shot - nowhere near the power of this bomb, but I was able to successfully keep up with a buddy's 1985 Porsche 928 with it (at least up to 100 MPH..). Of course the Porsche had a top speed over 150, the old Buick pushed a lot of air at 110 plus...lol.
This is absolutely spectacular! The Grand Prix doesn't get as much love as the GTO but it is one beautiful car to Restmod. Would love to hear more details on the motor. Wheels look awesome too. 💯🙌✌
Enzo Ferrari once stated that the XKE is the most beautiful Car ever made. That may be so. The Pontiac Catalina and Grand Prix of '65 thru '69 may be the most beautiful American cars Ever built....
I have always loved early Grand Prixs...Tin Indians are my favorite. Hood tach too, brutally awesome machine. I would Love to own it, Cheers to the owner, enjoy Sir.
Had a red 67 Bonneville when I was a senior in high school which was pretty much the same car except for the head & tail lights and no vinyl. It had the 400 engine. Loved that car, it done everything right. Had 8 people in it many times just cruise'n around. Once when by myself I opened it up on a lonely 4 lane and the speedometer would go past the long turn indicator which was probably an 1 1/2" past 120 mph. Pretty crazy on bias ply tires now that I think about it. I forgot about the 428 and I'm curious enough to look up the difference between the 421 and the 428. Must be just a little more bore size. I hate to hear this one is going to be taken out and be replaced with the same engine like a million other's. It's a very nice car either way. Enjoy the cruise.
Thumbs up, but I’m disappointed. What a gorgeous car, with superior looking workmanship! Don’t we get a ride? Don’t we at least get to hear her start up???
They are not stock I’m pretty sure they are 17’s. I’ll have to ask him specs. He’s got a new twin turbo motor with bigger turbos and a new air to water setup on it now it’s way sicker and will easily be over 1000 wheel without breaking a sweat
Wonder what compression he's running. '67 428 would be quite high for a turbo set up. and why not just air-to-air since the turbos are already at the front of the engine bay. Nice car.
I will next time lol, unfortunately the new motor here developed a rod knock already. The car will no longer be powered by a Pontiac. He’s installing a 427 LS with bigger twins. Should be 1500-1800hp by next spring, not that he’s going to push it. He really did build this for a cruiser, those LS motors car just make crazy power if you want to.
Yeah, the old Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick big engines could be tricky about oiling if you didn't get the bearing clearances just right. Hope it works out this time, beautiful build on a beautiful ride!
Should have given the narrator a ride first. His casual narration of oh ya it has a 428..............Twin turbo was lacking enthusiasm. Pin that guys ears back and put his stomach into the seat... Then let him review the car. 😎
Well then this will really chap your ass, he blew this motor up and put in a 427LS twin turbo then someone made him an offer he couldn’t refuse at a car show and he sold it. Bought a mint 65 GTO and swapped in a 5 speed manual, digital dash etc. then sold that car. And now he’s building another car. Just what he does. Guy is a fabricator and leaves nothing alone.
