Matthew , I have a little story that directly relates to this . When I was part of an EMS Explorer post in Idaho , a family friend who went to our church owned a local funeral home . One day I walked in just to ask questions about how he handles deceased bodies and I went into.the garage to take a look at the hearse . It was a beautiful blue over black hardtop 1967 Cadillac Park Row and when he took off one of the side panels , it said ambulance ! I was like huh ? He said that before there was formal ambulance service here in 1968 , the funeral homes were also the ambulance service . Paul's service was the one of two that carried medical equipment while the others were just scoop and haul ass to the hospital . The combination unit was one of two from funeral homes in our area that had an electronic siren .
Curtains are a difficult item to restore or replace on one of these cars. The fabric is generally disintegrating after 40-50 years and an exact match to the original material is usually impossible to find. It is common for the curtains to be removed entirely by new owners after the Coach leaves the Funeral Home because they interfere with the “daily driver’s” vision. If the curtains are still present they can be used as patterns for new ones, but if they’re not, well, good luck! The red curtains in this ‘67 are not the original style or color, but I imagine that the owner chose them to add a dash of color to the otherwise “original” interior.

@@matthewtaylor3308 The car is incredibly nice and I'm sure you're right regarding the owner choosing to add a little color, but they are just not the color I would have chosen. I'm sure the original fabric pattern and even thickness are hard to find these days, but I would think somewhere, someone out there has a source for period correct white colored curtains.
