The 1965 Topps is my favorite set for several reasons. It was the first time I opened a pack back in 1965 and set me on the wonderful road of collecting. I also love the pennant on the side. 1967 was the first year I went nuts collecting and eventually wound up with the complete set. I dislike the 1962 and 1968 Topps because I hate the wood borders..

There is something special about the first set that you buy in packs. For me it was 1985 which visually is nothing special, but I love it because of what it means to me. I also consider the 1965 and 1960 as among my favorite designs of the sixties. Thanks so much for watching.

I remember buying the 1967 Topps Brooks Robinson in 1979 while in college and paying $100.00 for Brooks.

65 and 60 are my favorites. I refer to the 68s as burlap sack borders.

I do love the look of 1965 and 1960. And I've always had an affinity for the 1961 and 63s. Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel 👍

I like the 1964 set 1st, 1966 set 2nd, and 1967 is 3rd.

Of the three you mentioned, I like the 64 set the best decision wise. For the whole decade I would have to save my favorite set is the 65 and 1960 probably..

Carew for me ...Seaver- unbelievably great, but Carew- he is soooo underrated even being considered as great

I agree with you on Carew being underrated. There are a number of players from some of these vintage sets that just get overlooked. Harmon Killebrew price-wise also gets kind of ignored. Boog Powell is another guy that I think gets shortchanged and Willie McCovey. The prices on Maccabees cards just don't seem to match the level and career stats.

Steve Carlton is ridiculously undervalued for the caliber player he was. Besides his '65 Topps RC, most Carlton base cards - even early ones, can be had in nice shape for well less than 50 bucks. Cuellar is pronounced "Quay-ar". He was from Cuba. Felipe Alou is a 6th series card; the true high numbers (7th series) start at #534. The Seaver would be considered the more key rookie card in the set, not because of who was the better player him v. Carew - but because that card (#581) is a single print in the 7th series. Carew is not, and if he was - his value would likely be more in line with that of the Seaver. Belanger, Cash, & Bunning are all 7th series single prints. Bland? The whole point is that the design is simple and does not overwhelm the photographs, which are gorgeous. '67 really gives you an idea what baseball looked like in the mid 1960's. Nice cards. I'm also working on the set.

I agree with you on Carlton. It is insane how undervalued his base cards are. Thanks for the added key info on the set. Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel 👍

I'm starting to like the 1967 set more , the backs are what stand out to me , the green color and the split screen drawings . My favorite 60's set is 1969 , only because that was the year i started really collecting baseball cards . I'm currently building a 1968 set , the Nolon Ryan rookie is my biggy i need . I have every topps basic set from 1969-2010 , i have the 2020 ,21 and 22 also i will fill in the rest from 2011-19 . The 1968 will be my last set i build for baseball , trying to also get the 1971 basketball and Hockey sets completed also . My favorite thing is building the sets that i was collecting in my childhood of late 60's and up to the late 70's . Loved your video and i subscribed and will be checking out your video's . Peace and keep on keeping on !!!

Thanks so much for watching and for the support with your subscription. I am also a few away on the 1968 Topps baseball set but also missing Nolan Ryan. My current run of completed Topps baseball sets is 1973 until 2020 so I can't help but be a little bit envious of you already owning complete 1969, 70, 71 & 72 sets. Those are some amazing sets.
