'67 was a unique year. It was the first 12 volt and last of an older style tail lights and bumper. It was also the only year with the dual reverse lights fastened to the bumper. Although this car has not been restored to the original specs, the 1600 engine is a welcome upgrade, especially driving up steep hills. It's a beautiful car that can be a daily driver, especially in mild-weathered states that don't experience extreme heat or cold since there is no A/C and the heater is not an efficient windshield defogger/defoster. That being said, I've owned and loved quite a few of them, including a '66 Beetle convertible and a '71 Karmann Ghia convertible.
As it looks like a very clean 1967 VW Beetle that anyone would enjoy having. There are some deviations from the original 1967 Beetle. Guess these are the upgrades. If this was an American imported model it would have had a 1500cc engine with a 12 volt generator and not a 1600 cc with a 12 volt alternator. Would make you think the engine is not original numbers matching. You would need a birth certificate from VW Germany for proof. The "Bright work" or chrome work is called the Deluxe model which was a standard for all US bound Beetles not to be confused with the super beetles. The rear tail light lenses are from an imported model. US models had all red lenses. The fender beading as it looks very nice and gives it a classier look the fender beading was body colored for that year. Also the 1967 Beetle did not have headrests on their seats and the material was a weave look on the material. Nice addition as people love it, but a beetle enthusiast might not. Also and the window cranks are not original for a 67 beetle and the headliner should be multi piece install.. What is the switch on the left of the steering wheel, guess new accessory. 19K miles after a rebuild? in all a very nice ride just be careful on your presentation.
