The way she song the star spangled was so wonderful and outstanding she was sick and mahalia kept on going and she song those songs from the depths of her soul and she have it her all people don’t know what ms Mahalia Jackson went through to sing so powerfuly

I will continue to say it: studio recordings (and some microphones 🎙) didn’t do Mahalia Jackson’s voice justice. We get so much more of the beauty of it hearing her taped live.
