Hi a 1968 Super Bee bought it brand new had a 440 instead of a 383 long story paid 3k out the door 3.55 gears automatic turned 13.71 it was black with a white stripe miss it thanks for sharing Joe
This is 2018 and the dodge is a 1968. thats 50 years old. Smh, hard to believe. If that was made yesterday it would still look current and bad ass. Freakin beautiful
Ain't it! These old cars are beautiful. I have found that many things that came from about 1930-1980 are just timeless. They are perfect anytime. I love old music, blues, jazz, funk, soul and classic rock, I love old guns especially S&W and Colt revolvers and old school wild west guns like single action revolvers, Derringers, Tommy Gun, Coach Guns, lever action rifles and so on, old TV shows and movies and of course these old cars are just so much cooler than anything that's come out in my lifetime. I was born in 81. It is my opinion that everything and everyone cool already happened back then, and ever since people have been trying to copy, steal, recreate and emulate all of it and with very very little success. Occasionally something cool comes along. I do actually like the new Challengers and even the Chargers, but I'd much rather have one from late 60's on the Charger and early 70's on the Challenger. Any day of the week.
@@erictalkington5674 That's true.Lets face it.The guys who were in their 20s and 30s in that era truly lived. They had a blast.Countless stories laying it all down at the red lights and rippin through the gears of these timeless classics.
@jerryjames2049you dummy! Shoulda, woulda, coulda... Just kiddin'!! 😂😂😂 If we all could only go back and redo, bought a few and stored 'em, right?? What some mfrs are charging just for options these days, would easily by a loaded Mopar with Hemi!!
I'm sure 7 years ago the owners swapped out the camshaft and retuned the engine.... It sounded like a dog off the line or from roughly idle to 3,000 RPMS. The exhaust note denotes the brutal strength and youth of engine. It sounded very young still and as we know, the old cylinder head designs, small valves and astounding compression gives us that beastly exhaust note we love so damn much.
Whose was the days man we thought they never end.Had 327 Super Sport 64 loaded Keith had 68 Charger 340 dual carb Larry had Mustang 69 351. My dad GTX 440 Mag 69 Bob had Duster 340 70 and Bill had the Demon 340 70 every week end driving and partying each other house always working on somebody's car. I tip my to all you guys . my son now has a race car and drives the Hellcat and he.d got extras on it. I drove it Thank Giving Day
Yeah I let my daughter drive my 66 383 727 Charger and I was very nervous but she's a good driver and everything was great. She normally drives a little Honda so she was blown away.
Great looking car, I really like the Cragar's. In my opinion nothing looks better on a muscle car, bias ply tires would finish off the look, I gotta them too.
Lordy lordy ...thats a sexy beast my man ...i love it ...sheesh i wish i could run that beast just one day .... And enjoy the good ol days my friend .. Light and love to you and yours my dude
Had one back in high school in 1983 with the 4 speed 383 magnum. Sold it for $2000 dollars. Back then you could buy just about any used muscle car for $2000 or less. Most were in primer or needed some work but they were every where. Had a 65 coronet 500 also. sold it for around $1000 in 1985. Only if I would have known then what I know now. $$$$$$$$$$ But we all can say that because we all had our share of nice cars at one time or another and wished we had them back.
440's ran high 12's ,low 13's with street tires when new... Slicks were low 12's even tested by a car magazine back in the day...they tested a 440 Cuda it ran 14's spinning everywhere,so they put on slicks that are equal to a modern radial tire tha car ran low 12's..
You guys have to remember that Dodge back then detuned their 440's and also their standards on craftsmanship were really low! A 440 engine is 7.2 litres yet the heads of the engine flow a very small CFM! The ports on the 440 almost resemble want you would find on a small block V8! The engine is basically starving for more air flow and every thing that comes with it! Remember its a 7.2 litre engine thats getting CFM in the low 200's when it needs Cfm in the high 200-300's CFM to make the power it should make! And thanks to company's like Edelbrock and Trick Flow a 440 engine with a stock rotating assembly with a cam swap and a few iteam's to balance it all can make power from 530 hp-630 hp with stock bottom end and a upgrade top end kit! All this without the need of a super charger or turbo charger, Naturally Aspirated engine that will last a long time!
Thank you, because I was going to dog this car out,but it's my dream car I really want one,i raise honey bees and to see it get out run sux, your right now go big, only about 3 grand to dust that Ford, and probably has a 3.50 gear so I really like input from guys who know what there talking about, but at the time it could out run anything on the road go MOPAR
Sure enuff" and then there is the power to weigh ratio, I've out ran some beautiful old cammed up muscle cars with a nearly stock fuel injected 302 Mustang in the late 80s (on the street ) but then again I practiced ALOT on getting it out of the hole, in the guys I'm referring to would have 4 11 or 4:56 gears on street tires trying to do 3000 hole shots, I still would have traded them cars :) except for my old slow 428cj headed 390 with C6 &370's I cant even type this without smiling like I'm at a strip club, boy i miss my baby, one day 🤞
Damn man, that's fuckin dope. Love it. I thought (as I have just started learning about the Coronet and the Super Bee) I thought that design pattern with the tail lights went all the way across on the 68? Can, you or anyone explain that to me? Still, incredible car. Thanks for sharing.
My Mozilla firefox would not let me comment, not sure how to fix it. Great SB, my father owns a 70 super bee 383 auto, now it is a 440, 4 speed. Should have kept the glass packs on it, sounds better then the 3in ITT exhaust it has now.
if your being honest i tip my hat to you sir, im no expert just a fan of superbees, i live in scotland so only see these classic cars on you tube and that one is a beautiful looking car mate 👍🏻
I use to own a 69 Super Bee sure do wish I had another one, God willing I will before I leave the great great granite planet. LOL btw mine was black as well didn't quite look as good as this one, I was only sixteen years old at the time. I remember with my lead foot it drank fuel like a elephant. Looking back now, I can't believe I own one of those when I was only sixteen years old.
Thats a road runner front end with a charger rear crazy funny thing is i never heard of this muscle until yesterday i bought 1 thinking it was a plymouth road runner for 5k
Beautful car! The simpleness of the design let's the straightness/prep of the work look wonderful. What did we pay for the L60s back then?? So cheap. Gimme that 4.10!! Burn, baby...burn!!
I know where one of these is. It was deliberately driven into a swamp back around 1970. I worked with the guy for years. When I said to him where I think it is he said that's it. He died last year.
Baaaah, who cares which is faster ? I'd take the Coronet even it is driven by bare-foot like Fred Flintstone style. It always surprises me to realize how charming is this brick like massive car is. But, de facto hits me, it is there and sooo beautiful and man, it is raw...
