Those are great factory cast iron headers!!! "yeah, but ya got 500 horsepower" - Jesus, does this guy understand dyno numbers at all? That high torque is way more important than that 1.25 seconds of "500 horsepower"!!! FFS!!

Wrong. Horsepower is work done. It is possible to have high torque and zero work.

HP is a calculation, dynos don't measure anything but torque over rpm@@lastditch5968

@@cpmotors Thanks for the reply. Awesome engine! I am building up a 427 BBC. I want it to be pump gas friendly. Not really sure where the compression ratio line is for being able to still run pump gas.

MachiningCoolStuff!!!!! It depends on several things and intended use. I have several over 10:1, and some under.

It would do 600hp with real headers..and roller cam..cam.holding it back.maybe 650 hp..what you think.r

randy jones it made 537HP with real headers and the Tripower, 546HP with 825cfm and Edelbrock C427X. It would have to be a pretty rowdy solid roller and turn 7200 at least to make 600+, and that would take some I take work also.

I'm not a keyboard expert in any way......... I could have swore it said L88.......... Real question for you experts. What do you think a real L88 that's hopped up a bit more than it came would do on a Dyno? Steel crank, eagle h beam rods, Ross standard bore 12.5:1 compression pistons, total seal rings, solid roller crane cam, .560 .580 lift, new GM performance parts cast iron "990" casting heads, with stainless 2.19 valves, single plane hi rise (hurricane" intake and a predator 930 cfm carb. With Davis unified ignition "D.U.I" distributor, hooker super comp headers with 16 inch collectors. The car is a 1971 Camaro SS with a direct drive powerglide and a 6:20 "9inch" Ford rear end.. 29 inch tall 12.5 inch wide"Mickey Thompson "et" street tires ,all fiberglass frontend, fiberglass doors, 14 point roll cage.
