My father placed third, at age 40, in the Elsinore Grand Prix in 1969. He's 84 & still riding. He rides a KTM on the street, too! Jack Strayhorn had the 3rd Greeves motorcycle to enter the US, back in the 1960s. The Elsinore Grand Prix use to be 100 miles-- 10 laps at 10 miles each. Here's to Nick Nichlson, Malcolm Smith, Harvey Mushman (Steve McQueen's incognito name), the Foothill Hawks, Claude Osteen and all the good ole guys of racing past! And here's, especially, to my dad, the incomparable Jack G. Strayhorn!!
