PPG Acrylic-Clean DX330 Wax and Grease Remover - a great product that will remove excess 3M adhesive and not harm the weatherstripping. 3M 38984 Specialty Adhesive Remover - will soften old adhesive and not harm paint. (GM original 1960s paint was not damaged on my car. Suggest testing prior to using)
That happened to me once. You can loosen the latch post and adjust that out just a little and not mess up the door gaps. If that doesn't look good then you just need to keep it out in the hot summer sun with the doors shut until the foam smashes down a bit. Doesn't help with cold winter areas.
