On "My Car Story" we're in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago IL on 10-29-22.
We're looking at a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T in B5 Blue Paint. The car comes with a 426 CI V8 “Hemi” engine and has a 4 Speed manual transmission.
The car's Owner is Ted “Wolfman” Wolff. Ted’s had this car since 2011. He shares he always loved the looks of this car. His next-door neighbor for 45 years, was Mr. Norm the Owner of the famous Grand Spaulding Dodge when some of the greatest Mopars were built, and we share some stories of Mr. Norm.
Special thanks to my Friend Larry Weiner who reconnected me to Ted Wolff. Larry was a good friend of Mr. Norms and worked with him for many years. Larry designs cars for you the consumer with Grand Spaulding Dodge touches called the Grand Spaulding Heritage Editions. Larry has all the proper rights to build modern version of cars for today’s Car Enthusiast with Mr. Norms seal of approval. If you'd like to purchase a car Larry’s builds, see the website www.mrnorms.com

Very well optioned car, and super rare in the White Hat Special. The thing about buying a Mr Norm's car was they were specially tuned out the door, and any Mopar owner could order all kinds of performance upgrades right from his dealership to make their car as fast as they could afford it. Mr. Norm did what the factory couldn't or wouldn't with Hemi Darts, 383 and 440 A bodies, superchargers and more. He did it 1st.

Just breathtaking Lou! The notes that 426 Hemi plays I can never tire from. I envy what you get to do and admire all the content you provide. Thank you for presenting treasures like these to all of us car buffs. If only I had about a million or so dollars to own this jaw dropping majestic muscle car! 1968- 1970 Dodge Charger is the epitome of the Muscle Car era for me. Kudos to men just like Ted that preserve as well as excercise these galant horse!

You couldn't option a Charger better than this one. B5 blue, a 426 Hemi, and a 4 speed! Add to that Mr. Norm Kraus is your neighbor. I bet that man had stories to tell. I always liked the story how Chrysler told him you couldn't put a big block in a Dart. Legend goes Mr. Norm told his guys to stuff a 383 from a B-body into a Dart. A few days later, he drove it from Chicago to Highland Park and asked the engineers to come out and look at his Dart. Next thing you know, Chrysler was putting big blocks in A-bodies.

A proper Charger!! Sweeeet! Outstanding color combo! Yes, this 2 DOOR Charger is a muscle car! The front end is magnificent. Paint job was sloppy, protecto plate sprayed & hood springs. I dig the back end view of the Charger, white sail panels are a work of art. I concur those gas caps are the best. I remember my sister getting next door neighbor's green 70 Challenger. The view each day at his yard was breathtaking. And she gets it. While I drive the family relic, 72 Gold Duster. Oh well.

Hey Louis - spent many happy hours driving around Melbourne in the 80s/early 90s in my metallic green/green luxury interior/white vinyl top 1970 Chrysler VIP 318 ( came with ‘VG 0318’) plates. I loved that car & its torqueflite. My brother had the white version and one of my best friends a VF hardtop (that’s a Dodge Dart in the US people). It was fun to hit the road in the three OZ Mopars. As for the Wolfman’s Charger… no words… and thank you for all that you do Lou.

¡Saludos cordiales Lou!

Funny story Lou; When my little brother bought his 1968 Road Runner in the mid 90’s it was already in good condition but need some original parts to make it perfect. He hunted everywhere looking for the small back-up lens that glows red when you put it into reverse. It took over a year to track an NOS part down and the price was ridiculous for a little piece of plastic….but he had to have it! You show it turning on in this video. Thx again Lou!

Love this blue/white color combo with the R/T package with the Hemi engine, buckets and console 4 spd. We (my Dad and I) test drove a '69 in this color combo but it wasn't the R/T and it was only the 318 engine. Our '68 triple green Charger (383) was in the shop getting a small dent in the front fender tip (from driveway moving around) fixed. Same evening we almost bought a '69 Chevelle SS 396 out of the showroom, silver/black/black. Dad couldn't stand from being behind the wheel of a muscle car. Almost every year back then we had a new one of some sort. If we had of seen this one back then......I think so! And it's For Sale? OMG, I'm dreaming.... if only prices were anywhere near 1969 MSRP's!

He gave them a 528 Hemi crate engine parts number & said, that’s what I want if you want my business. I took it out of the blue plastic crate it came in that following Monday morning when it got delivered! My uncle had a 1965 AF/X Coronet & I put the new 528 in the car & had it running by Wednesday! Man that's one bombastic episode. That man knows what he has and enjoys his good fortune everyday. He bought it on 2010 and by then these weren't cheap anymore.

As a kid, those that could purchase a muscle baby, back in 69 through 75, who had the cash and lived in Sherwood Park #Alberta, always took there Rides for oil changes and premium fuel at the #Esso on 911 Ash Street. - From torn out rear universal joints to simple oil changes ... I worked on them all as novice, with great instructors back the shop.

2 thumbs up to how he showed off the exhaust. Glad he "drives like he stole it." Everyday. He is driving a pile of money and had THE next door neighbor (for 49 years) he can gloat about everyday. Great! I would too! Wish I lived near so I could visit him. 15:49 "right amount of pedals." Good call Lou.

Lou, Next time you see Ted tell him for me he’s got the best health care over-rider in the world because; I know many guys who would give up a kidney, Lung or any extra body part for that Hemi engine he has on the stand! Man!, could Chrysler make muscle cars or what? And that “R/T” badge and Hemi engine make it all the better. Thx again Lou! P.S.- Code sheet stated car came with disc brakes (in the 60’s that ment front disc brakes). A real honey!
