Ohhhh...the 351. One of the great all-rounders. Dude up the street had one when i was a kid. He used to run it at Oxford occasionally.

Seemed outgunned at the time, but they can really be made to run today thanks to modern cylinder head technology.

Never saw those concept car photos before and I’ve been following along for a while with mustangs. Thanks for sharing. I have a plane Jane 69 fastback my dad left me that’s nearing completion. I previously owned a 65 coupe that I ended up selling after the military for a dad van. I’m not going for concourse or overly modified. Mainly mildly restomodded with stock or period correct stuff like spoilers. Replacing all the drums with disc brakes and a booster. The only option it came with was power steering. I already have a vintage AC kit that’s going in along with a Holley sniper EFI setup on a FB1 Edelbrock intake.

A lot of those old cars came with little more than power steering.

At 2:49 you see that the still shot of the Ford promo car shows the steel wheels are painted body color, and each hole has a press-in stainless trim in it. This was a $43 option that you really didn't see too often. I grew up around the block from a new '69 Torino GT convertible in Candy Apple Red with those rims. Also, in the early 90's, a lady who was a cashier at a local supermarket had them on her Bright Yellow '69 Mustang hardtop, and that her husband insisted on keeping them on the car when he had restored it a few years prior. And, if you look at the Ford promo with the red (Torino) Cobra zooming down the dusty road, you'll again see the same wheel treatment. I never see this at car shows, and I have to wonder if people think that owners did this and not Ford. Personally, I think it's a nice departure from Argent or Chrome, and my Torino will be getting that treatment. Over the centuries, I have been trying to authenticate the factory having an option for these 68-69 wheels being painted in Dark Argent (charcoal), very similar to the not-black that Cobra grilles were painted. I had a set on a Code-2 New Lime Cobra I bought in the 80's that "looked" factory, but other car dudes were claiming it was primer. Any help out there? Campy? Thanks!

What the heck is that thing on the sail-panel/C pillars of the prototype? Looks like the lid for a centrifuge or something. Think I'd rather have a C4 than the FMX. @4:16 this looks like the sprinkler head under my old '68 Cougar! The PS pump was in the trunk, so I installed, connected, and filled, the pump and started the engine. It was leak city under there, so I removed the belt and left it as is. Would the rear axle chunk still be red oxide on that San Jose product? That Candy-apple(?) or Grabber(?) Red is just about the most perfect color on a '69-'70 Sportsroof like that - and there were a bunch of truly great colors available in those years.

I guess the thing on the C-pillar was supposed to be a competition fuel filler door or some such thing.
