@@SanDiego_VDubLife Reason I am asking is because I bought a generic 1600 cc engine to go in my bus thinking it had no mustash bar. Now I'm hearing that the 1600 cc engine has to be specific for a bay window ? Does this sound correct in your opinion ? I just subbed to your channel
@@pstreetgarage7304 hey thanks for the sub! I actually did the same thing many many years ago. The bay window bus is from 1968-and up. It requires a specific engine case that has holes to allow the mustache bar to mount to it. The engine internals are the same as a bug but the case os different and specific for the bus. So many people have put bug engine in their bus that someone invented an adapter that bolts to your oil pump cover. That’s what I have. I ran it like that for about 15 years with only one bolt holding it and finally mounted it properly this year. Now they make universal cases that can be used on type 1,2 or 3. I actually found one at a swap meet for $100 a few months ago and need to check if it is any good. If it’s good I’m rebuilding it and upgrading the crank and cam. Check my playlist to see all the drama I went through to fix my case to mount the adapter plate and mustache bar correctly. I think it’s the one before or after this.
