You're bringing back memories I did a 71 that was a real SS from a junkyard cost me $2,000 but a time I was done with it I was up to 9 grand not too bad it came out very satisfactory but I did it the hard way 90% of it was done without a frame off that was one of the best three and a half years of my life I really enjoyed working on that car fun fun fun might do it again at 64 who knows lol

I really didn't think it was possible to bring a car back that was that far gone. It really didn't look like much was left from the original car. Hats off.

This is my dream car to restore when I’m older and have adult money, only things I’d change is the paint to black with red stripes, make it a hard top, make the interior with more black with heavy red accents and chrome accents. And add more chrome accents to the exterior. But these cars are so hard to find and when you do you gotta be ready to pay a lot of money.

A 70 Chevelle SS did not have those park lights. The SS Chevelles had clear park lenses with orange bulbs.

I love this rebuild. I am currently rebuilding a 1956 olds 88. I hope it turns out half as good as your SS. I do have one question. Is that a Buick GS at 5:58 - 5:59? I was looking at the floor shift.

What is the white that it’s covered in? Paint or what? I’m working on my first restoration and it needs a lot of body work and I definitely don’t have the equipment to get it into the air like you did.. any recommendations?

Curious about the horseshoe shifter at 5:57? The brake pedal in this shot looks too big also, for a manual transmission. Earlier pedal shots are inconclusive. Regardless, very nice restoration, 1970 is my favorite year.

Fi still had my 396, it would still look like the day I bought it, many people didn't deserve to own a car like this, no reason to not take care of your vehicle.

1970 Chevelle SS with a small block under hood ... well we know it does'nt have the original engine, grill should'nt have the vertical pieces above and below the SS emblem , marker lights in front bumper should be clear not amber
@222foont

So, what is the point? So very little original car in it and not especially rare car. However, so much talent went into this!
@discmotoslots
@discmotoslots 3 года назад
this car had a small block in it. not original engine? '70 ss had Big block 396 or 454 engines only!
@marlinnotfish

Nice work but you should never cut up a body like that without welding temporary bracing inside the car first. You cut so much integral metal off the rear quarters and inner wheelhouse area. The saving grace was having the body on the frame. Those body’s are se weak one cut up they shift and sag under their own weight.
