About 10 years back I built my grandfather's 1971 TS250 back from the dead after sitting with gas in it for 20 plus years. Learned a ton about working on bikes and honestly was a pretty great first bike that kept me engaged for years. Far from a museum piece but what a fun bike.

My first bike was a 1977 TS 250 back when I started riding in 1990. I could only afford the bikes that were a couple decades old back then!😂 brings back memories for sure.

I always love those vintage 2 strokes. In 70 I was 2 young for that1. But I looked @ them @ the bike shop in town. Kerms cycles. Love to own & ride that ✌️👨🏻‍🚒🇺🇸

OMG ... AWESOME restoration.. I bought a 1970 TC-90 brand new. It had the same badging and high chrome fenders
@malcolmborne
@malcolmborne 2 года назад
Nice! I don't doubt you bought a brand-new TC-90 but maybe you had an early '71(?) because the first edition (1970) TC90s had painted fenders either in Ascot Red (very deep orange) or Monterey Green to match the tank, not chromed like the '71 which came in Strip Orange (bright orange compared to Ascot Red) or Aspen Yellow.

@@malcolmborne just checked… you are right it was the reddish color with painted fenders. I got it confused with my 1971 185 Serra.

I owned a TS250 1979 model,It was registered and I rode it to work for a while until I got nabbed by Mr plod for doing fish tails on the side of the road : ), that is a clean machine, mine looked like it had been through a war zone after I was finish with it.

I’m still TOTALLY DEAD SERIOUS when I say I’d buy and proudly wear a shirt with your logo on it, and a picture of a great vintage bike, with the tag line, “Good luck finding a nicer one”... 😉

Doesn’t sound like she wants to idle very well
@jonmccormick8683
@jonmccormick8683 3 года назад
With 2-strokes the (except fuel injection ones) you need to crack the throttle every few seconds or else they gum-up, stall etc. Most trail bikes were ridden fairly hard, damaged etc = hard to find them in this condition.
@2-strokeracer531
@2-strokeracer531 3 года назад
Nah, just a little idle or air/fuel adjustment.. I had a '73 TS 185, a '75 DT 400, and now a '74 TS 400... Just like a 50 year old car, you're always playing with the screws.. Kenny figured it out quick.. When you're revving the shit out of these bikes, you gotta stay on the screws.. 👍🇺🇸👍
