@@jesusislukeskywalker4294 Don't forget that grubby Clive Palmer too... the prick behind the Johk for PM campaign, that failed exactly the same way he does today.
Remember their corrupt government? Had a minister of Racing! And built roads and infrastructure to benefit private individuals. The corrupt police force commissioner charged with crimes and politicians too. Eventually led to inquiries and major reforms. This video paints a rosy picture. Great archive to have.
We still have a Minister for Racing. It's Grace Grace and she is also the Minister of Education and Minister of Industrial Relations. And we still have corruption :(.
@@ladycaissia1547 Not as open and blatant corruption as under Bjelke. And even with police excesses during Covid, a far gentler, less violent police force now.
It looks like Queensland was coming along well. It seems to have peaked around that time with cheap energy, cheap housing and land, community cohesion, manufacturing of Australian cars from 3 big companies. Things have certainly changed. We can't even make car manufacturing viable anymore and we now see china-cars on our streets.
"Developmental" - A word not understood by today's professional politicians. When one understands Developmentalism, one knows who and what is really needed.
We need a proper conservative in power. Not the rag tag lot that are modern liberals. We need to limit the Native titles act and actually realise that income doesn’t start in Beijing if we want our economy booming again we’ll have to build factories and forgeries once more. Build them out west and have on sight quarters. That’s the way to do it. Get rid of afew unnecessary laws. Stop giving in and appeasing Climate change protester BLM folks and Rioters in general. Set up the states guard
The 'Bruce Highway' in the 70s and 80s was a joke. Pot-holed, crumbling, narrow, huge drops off the shoulder, flooded every wet season. The Country/Nats party never contributed their share of the cost to maintain. A national link? In Qld, a disaster.
@@justdoesntaddup8620 Yes, any inconvenient truth the nutjobs want to reject, they put down to "the MSM". Bjelke-Petersen was a pure as the driven snow.
Look at all those law abiding layed back safe, comfortable, friendly non-rap listening no homie-style attitude folks..................................................................................
Less obesity, more early death and infirmity from smoking. Fewer people needing a shrink for any number of claimed syndromes, higher proportion of suicide and depression from undiagnosed mental health issues. A lot longer time to pay off a car, hi-fi or home loan, but a simpler life needing fewer things on the credit card. Good & bad then, good & bad now.
@@snowflakesue3986 i will look into this movie... I don't want to call him my dad because even if they are married until now he is still cheating on her. And this started in 1980 up until now he is still doing it.
@@hendriksaldua8208 Don's Party is a movie about 70's Australia/Australians. It was made during the time depicted in this youtube vid. It may not have much relevance to your experience other than there was a lot of people cheating with others during "Don's Party". My father was a cheater as well and that's the reason our family moved from the UK to Aus in the early 70's.
That would have been very close to average age at death for men in Australia at that time. The Age Pension qualifying.age for men being set at 65 years reflects the desire of Government to not have to pay out for too long.
