I’ve had a house in Glenella for 22 years. Between then and now I’ve lived in Brisbane Sydney and Dubai and I’ve literally traveled around the world. I am so proud to call Mackay my home. Thanks for posting.
The floating crane at the end of video was called the whirler ,it came up from hornibrooks bulimba workshop,spent many hrs on it during my apprenticeship as a boilermaker in the sixties, great times

Velintenos Shamrock hotel Taylor’s hotel. The palace hotel. CCS. The loaded dog. The prince of wales hotel The ambassador on the roof top. We were tri fx. And also the nudge Me and my brother from north Mackay Mack and Paul andrews I’m also known as. Stretch. Love Mackay I visit and go fishing still with my best mate joe. Think I saw my mum’s old Holden in one scene but can’t be sure. I was probably sitting at home watching the Goodies or Curiosity Show at our house in Mount Pleasant or something lol.
Spent many hours and lots of 20ies at the pin-&-ball at canelands, and mr whippy. And remember the escalator at lambert’s, and the capital cafe for a vanilla milk shake in an aluminium milk shake cup with a paper straw.
