I'm blown away by the fabrication. Just incredible. Talking about turning a turd into a diamond... I would have given it mini-tubs and dropped it down a bit, but that's just me.

Wonderful restoration of a not to often seen automobile. A great video montage of some real well put together engineering, welding and good ole fashion wrench turning, it turned out Awesome. Thanks for sharing this with us HBC

I have built two V8 Vegas many years ago. I still have one, a 74 and its waiting for an LS1 as well. Great looking car of yours and such nice execution of the work!

That is very nice. It s good to see a "lesser standing" car get a good renovation. Not very often that "average" cars get a new lease of life compared to the typical collectors cars.

@@charlesharper7292 Not from the factory, ever. They were all either 2.0L or 2.3L for the Cosworth version. No other engines were made available as an option. That is if my memory serves me correctly.

@@TazR6 yeah, I know. I grew up with em. Had a couple acquaintances that had built them up. I had a Pinto with a 351.

Very Nice one heck of an up grade from a monza v8 and with braceing and cage shouldnt get any tourque twists

Really great work especilly if he did all work himself hate to think what time and money he has invested in this project always loved the vega gt had a few when I was younger nine like this though with all the support hes put in car rails rollbar he shouldnt have to worry about car twisting or broken winshields wish would have put different wheels though yenko like 5 spoke to complement the color of the car

I built one back in '78, but not that nice. Excellent! Like to find a sedan, with a trunk lid I think they look nicer. More rare too.

A boatload of problems trying to find body and trim for these cars. I'm still looking for lower window reveals. Ugh !

Does national parts depot carry parts for it? If they do, i bet they have any trip piece you need. Also, try year one.

Bass Tech Before the resto, these cars look nice until they're soda blasted and all of the surprises rear their ugly head.

a buddy's older brother had a very clean one with an lt-1 back in the early 80s. of course the cosworths have collector value.

a job i had years ago. one of the salesmen had a V-8 Vega. he thought he was really clever. he still had it insured as a stock 4 cly. automatic. well one day he shows up to work and he,s not driving the Vega. so we ask him what,s the deal? he told us somebody stole it. and the insurance co. would not pay off because they said that he was committing fraud by not telling them what he had done to it.
