Hi welch shahan, Glad you enjoy this one :-) Happy to find them and share them with you. Thank you for the kind words, and I'm glad you're along for the ride, Lou
Really pretty car! Brings back memories of yesteryear! Love the old Grabber Blue! He has a nice restored Torino! Sound good and healthy too! Thanks Lou!
1971 Torino Beautiful classic Sharp and clean looking Great engine Built with precision Thanks LOU for sharing a wonderful classic. Please have a great day and a successful business week Wish you all the best success in the the business. Kind regards HISHAM ELFIKI
My buddy had a 1970 same blue but a big block. This is so very nice and clean and can't remember ever seeing that stripe. I learned something to. Great job Lou. Thank you and to the owner great ride.
Had a friend down the street from me where I lived that had a 1970 429 Cobra drag pack, 411 gears in the rear with posi. Every now and then he would get in his Torino and torch those back tires while going down the street. As a 15 year old kid way back then I thought that was pretty cool, but the greatest thrill for us kids back then was actually when he gave us a ride in this beautiful car of his. It was an acrylic yellow, I don't think they called it Grabber yellow with black interior with the Cobra emblems on the fenders. Man I sure love that car and I love these Torinos even though it'd be years later when I finally bought a 1970 Mach I equipped with a 351 Cleveland 4V engine. I bought the car in 75 with 74k on it. I couldn't believe how powerful that 351 Cleveland was hooked up to an FMX automatic transmission. And I still have this car, some things you just don't part with.

I never hardly hear of these anymore. Sweet car! My cousin had one around 1978. His was red with the louvered back window and was seriously fast! Silly thing to go on about but I love the tail lights on this one too. Looks so cool!
Hi ImTheDaveman, Glad you are able to enjoy this one, and you're correct, seems you hardly see them anymore. Thank you for sharing the memories of your Cousins' car too, Lou

I had one in '77. At six years in the Michigan winters, mine had holes in the floorboard that ripped loose the front mounts for the front seat (bench). I stabbed the gas and rocked back lying on the back seat looking at the head liner. Fortunately I regained control soon enough to avoid a wreck. That might have been interesting to explain to the cops.
Cool car! I also love that color. Was it the lighting or did it appear to be a little darker toward the back and get lighter as you move toward the front? I also love the exhaust note. Love that growl when he gave it some gas. It's like music to my ears. Thanks, again, Lou. :)
Hi clyde7059, Glad you think this one is "cool" and love the color too :-) Car appears to be all the same color, however it might be the lighting. You're welcome, Lou
Hi Lou,, Great vid,,big Thanx,,,,I'm just back from 2nd day at Kelmarsh Hall,,70th Morris Minor birthday,,,was awesome,,,friends 53 pickup ran sweet and a fly over of a British Lancaster and display from a Spitfire with that Merlin engine roar,,,,so now relaxing and watching your video for another great car fix,,,, have a great week,,

My first car was a 1972 Gran Torino gt. Got it in 1986. I was 16 when I got it band I’m 50 now and that car was the only car I ever drove over 140mph. That was while racing a Chevy nova on I-75 in Michigan
Very sweet ride, I was lucky enough to find a 70 Torino GT Fastback with a 429 SCJ Top loader 4spd with the factory Hurst shifter and the hidaway headlights, factory in dash tach, also Grabber Blue, I wasn't a fan of the colour but it was much easier to repaint the Grabber Blue and people seemed to comment and love it so much it ended up growing on me, the car wasn't actually for sale at the time but I kept the ad from the classifieds and when I called them they still had the car, the price went from $ 1400 to 950, I got it for 800.

Another difference is the 70 has a cowl vent grille where as the 71 did not . I know because my mother had one , my brother had one , I had one , and now later in life , I have another one .

Nice Torino! My dad was signing the papers on a red '72 Gran Torino Sport, when my mom used her veto powers and we drove home in an avocado green Torino wagon, with the venerable 250ci 6 cylinder... "It matches my refrigerator"... she said.

Easier then that, the grill on a 70 has a round emblem “O” the 71 has a Verticle emblem or a “I” in the center, I’ve had a few in the 80’s when I drag raced, my fav was the twin of this one, same Blue and stripe, mine was a 71, 351 4V 4 speed 4.10 trac loc posi, the other way to tell the difference was by the side, the 71 had different mounding down low on the body then the 70. Great cars, sure miss mine, just a blown up mustang, unibody. Nice car.

First thing that strikes me is the gorgeous blue, kinda uncommon blue to see on a car. It's an eye catcher for sure! Smooth style, perfect. Love the reflective stripe, stripes always say speed to me... not sure why... curious. Sweet ride... vicious sound... I like! Enjoyed the vid n love the way hot ride in cool blue!! Thank you Oh, and the little monkey wants to play with the little car... 🐒🚗

I had one just like that and just as nice except it was a bench seat car,, came out of a barn in middle valley TN in 1991 perfect original Grabber blue paint with the same laser stripe ( It does look like a bright white neon light at night when headlights hit it ) with no dents scratches or door dings. Interior was also black & perfect.. It had 19,000 miles on it the polyglass spare on a Magnum 500 rim had never hit the ground. The man I purchased it from was the 2nd owner & he purchased it in 1972 from the dealer that sold it originally ( Forrest Cate Ford ) His name was George E Rogers.. I sold the car in 1993 & have regretted it ever since.. Hang on to it forever bud.. On a side note the man also had a 1979 F150 that had 700 miles on it but that was in 1991. His daily driver was a beat up 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ 428. I guess that's why both Fords had low miles on them... Lol. Oh purchase price was $2500 for the Torino GT
@@loucostabile thank you I do have great memories of that car and that time in my life and thanks for the video it does take me back to a better place and time. Unfortunately Mr Rogers is no longer with us and I seen the other day where his 3.5 acres is going to be turned into a shopping center at 5933 Hixson Pike you can still see the house and the barn on Google Maps. Thanks again Lou, take care buddy
this well be short,,im 70 setting here looking for a car on this video box,,then this 1971 torino pops up ,with no number to call this lou feller,, were ready to buy but you dont put a number to call you,,or what town your in,,,every body dont know lou,,,lets get this done ,,were ready ,,if we can find you,,,thanks dale from southport nc
Hi Dale from Southport NC, I'm not aware of this car being for sale, however feel free to e-mail me at trupowr@yahoo.com and I'll touch base with the Caretaker, Lou
That is a super nice looking clean Grabber Blue Torino. I like the deep dished Magnum 500 wheels on the back which it has a nice stance I don't like it when cars are jacked up so high in the back. I think the Lazer stripe also sets the car off.

Well you do what you can with what you have....and when you have no videos and no Subscribers.....sometimes you should just enjoy someone is making the effort to share with you and be satisfied :-)
I very much like cars like these, the ones that are just a little bit out of the ordinary, enough so that you question what it is and not exclaim "WTF!" My uncle, Zolton Bulogh, became a senior engineer at FoMoCo after fleeing from Hungary with some family members after the 1956 Uprising. The cars he always drove were Mercurys, but he did have a soft spot for these high performance machines. Apparently, they reminded him of his purpose and meaning. What that is, I'm still not sure!
i know that louvers are useless and block your vision and all that...but they look so great on any ford fastback (by the way ford never used fastback they always officially used the term 'sportback' but even as a ford guy i never heard anyone saying that haha)
I had a 71 2rd HT Torino 500 351C 2v heads with a 4v converion intake manifold same hood as GT in video FMX tranny carb seconaries had a lockout cable as this was 1979-82 expensive gas era so i didnt want to burn extra petro when not showing off LOL
Hi DONALD KERN, Sounds like Fun Fords at the Kern household :-) Thank you for viewing, and hope you see many more Fun Fords on this RU-vid Channel, Lou
No hate intended but I really think it cheapens a car when you bolt-on a bunch of guages, especially on an automatic car... I prefer a showroom condition car.
