My dad gave me his 1970 4 X 4, 3/4 ton, 392 CI, 5 speed with OD and granny gear (yeah, try to find that on a truck now), same "metallic lime green" as this one, bought it new for $5,500. . . I found an old receipt in it that was for gas at 15 cents a gallon . . . As a kid I remember going from Canada to Mexico and every state west of the Mississippi during summer vacations. . . every other weekend of summer camping and fishing, fall we went Grouse hunting, winter Deer hunting and skiing, sledding, inner tubing, and never had any problems from the truck. It sat unused for 10 years so I replaced and restored some things as a precaution, nothing was bad. For the next 20 years that beast took my wife and kids and I anywhere we wanted to go and never let us down or stranded us, it was like a friend and I miss it everyday. . .
