This is a ex USA Matching Numbers Norton Commando 750 Roadster. Manufactured in December 1971 it is one of the last on the production line before the Combat variants arrived for 1972. We imported this Commando in 2020 and has been our regular ride for the last 3 years. A lot of aftermarket extras have been installed on this bike making it a reliable go-to for us. We've added some excellent aftermarket mods including an Oil pressure Gauge, Oil switch to stop wet-sumping (this is wired into the ignition so no chance of starting the bike if it's off), Podtronics, and also installed a Andover Norton brake stiffening kit for the front brake. We've also added the thicker steel clutch plate for a lighter clutch action. It's been regularly serviced and blows no smoke.
It has a single Mikuni carb setup and starts very easy even after a long lay up. It really gets up and goes and has proved to be an extremely reliable bike. The wiring was re-done before we purchased it. The indicators are LED and are an optional extra as they are not needed(pre-78). The only reason we are selling this is because we're looking at a new restoration project to take up our spare time. Thousands have been spent on aftermarket goodies on this bike, it's at a loss for us. There's so many things we've done to this it's best to list them:
