1971 Norton Commando 750 

Startup video of our recently completed refurbishment of a 1971 Norton Commando 750 Roadster.
NZ new 1971 Norton Commando. All matching numbers this Roadster had been partially restored after being off the road for 30 years. We have refurbished it back to more original specs but decided to keep the year later(1972) disc brake front end. The engine has recently been overhauled and runs well, so too the gearbox. Thousands have been spent on parts getting it back into this condition and a lot of hours. We have added a few modern upgrades for reliability such as an anti-wet sump valve which is wired into the ignition system. We elected to install Wassell Evolution carbs as they had better availability at the time and are very happy with the performance.
We have completely re-wired the bike using a new cloth type Lucas harness. It runs on a new Boyer mark IV ignition system and starts first kick. We have put a few miles on the bike and it runs great. The exhaust pipes sound excellent and the engine blows no smoke. Gearbox is strong and goes through the gears well. Oil pressure is well within spec. It has relatively new tyres with excellent tread. We originally refurbished this bike to keep ourselves but a few projects have since come along so this one has to go to clear some room. This bike definitely turns heads.
