Probably my absolute favorite 4 door of the 70s, you had the bad ass muscle car front end with the convenience of a sedan or wagon (I love the old wagons too) Always loved seeing these as police cars because of how awesome the looked in the cop car treatment.

the 4dr Satellites and Coronets of that time make excellent sleepers, the local OPP detachment had one of these with the 440 interceptor package, it blew by me one day on a highway nearby like I was standing still, I was doing over 80mph in a 72 New Yorker...and the howl of that beast...great.

That black car next to it looks like a 1977-78 Fury, lots of stripper model cars where this is parked. You see a lot of cars like the Satellite on the old Mannix TV show, along with their Dodge equivalents, C bodied cars like Furys and Polaras too.

I think it's a 1977-78 Dodge Monaco from the front grille with vertical separation, but it' s the same car :). I'd really like to know which one is parked to the left of the Satellite. Love these body styles.

Yep, it is the same car. Mopar used This Same body from 1971 to 1978. Last to use it were the 1978 Plymouth Fury and the Dodge Monaco. The Monaco name was discontinued, the fury name went on to be the Gran Fury, but on a different re-designed body... I'll spare you all the details, but, This car and the 1971 Dodge Coronet (in its first year as just a 4 door car) share this body. The coronet name went until 75, until it was discontinued and called the Dodge Monaco (remember the blues bros car, that body went until 74, on a still different body... the decision was made to kill the 76 Monaco And the Coronet name. But not ditch an edition of this car and leave it to just being sold as Plymouths... So that's how the name changed from Coronet to Monaco...) Oh and another note, having to do with the blues bros car; the fury name (as these cars shared bodies) shared the name With the Monaco until 1975, when it switched to the body beside the satellite. Some of the 75 furies appeared in the early episodes of The Dukes of Hazzard and you can tell the difference in the taillights and the front and lower grilles than the blues bro cars which were 74-75 monacos... This body with Satellite attached to it went from 1971-1974, The Plymouth Fury; 1974 (different front end) 1975-1978, Dodge Coronet; 1975-1976, Dodge Monaco; 1977-1978. Oh and the car parked to the left is one of the 3 listed above, I can tell by the rear bumper... But without seeing the grille or taillights, I don't know which. Sorry. I hope this helped you some... Thumbs Up!

The taillights are also of a '72 model. The '71 taillights were similar but didn't have the vertical divider.

I want one! But mine would need air conditioning. I live in a desert and I have made the decision that I hate sweating bullets sitting in traffic

I like the 1968-1970 Satellites and Belvederes. I didnt like the fuselage era Chrysler products as much.

Yeah Plymouth had two different models if you got the Satellite 2 door it looked like the road runner and if you got the Satellite 4 door it looked just like the one that is in this Video

I had a 4-door green [ same shade] slant 6 satellite in late 1970's given to me by inlaws Cannot remember the year. Don't have paperwork anymore. How do I find model. It was not sporty like a roadrunner. Pretty confused at this point. Only so many years they made them and I can't find any that match. Maybe my memory is slipping. Suggestions? I don't remember chrome mirrors...?

Satellites were made thorugh 1974 in two and four door bodies with different styling. For 1975 they were restyled and renamed Fury. Do a google image search for each year - something will jog your memory.

Those seats and door panels are hideous for sure. Unfortunately factory replacements just aren't available.

It has a '72 grille. The '73's had a different bumper and squared headlight bezels.
