Second, on thanks for saving a great old Ford. I've got a 71 and it is going to the shop soon to get a facelift. I don't have time to do the work, but I want to keep it alive, enjoy it, and pass it on to my son one day. Very nice truck you have and great job! Enjoy it....
I have a 1971 ford ranger f 250 camper special I'm working on currently, the issue is you really have to make sure it went into park or the truck will roll away, rolled into a tree once, luckily the hitch and the tailgate took the force.
The Holley efi gave the truck better throttle response and probably mileage. It seemed to take longer to crank the engine to start the truck up, with the carb if you barely bumped the starter it would pop right off. One thing I didn't like is I used a external fuel pump that came with the kit, you could hear the fuel pump under acceleration. I moved the cross member back to make room for the Mustang gas tank.
@@rockcountygarage3430 Thank you. I have a 69 mustang tank and I just learned that in 73 Ford moved the crossmember to make room for the tank, so I don't think it's an issue. I'll be picking up my engine from the machine shop in the morning and will be ordering the Sniper today.
The carpet is a molded carpet from stock interiors. I highly recommend them, the carpet was excellent quality. The dash holes were filled in and the the dash was painted. The door panels are stock steel panels I found on eBay and painted black.
The front is 245/40x18 and the rear is 275/45x20 The rear is really tall to level the truck because of the axel flip. If I had it to over again I would have used lowering hangers and shackles instead of doing the axle flip.
Did you have to use spacers? I have a explorer rear end and ordered spacers to get the rear end a little wider so the wheels will sit in the wheel wells. If you don’t mind I will probably ask you more questions. Doing a similar build.

I spent over 1000 hours restoring this truck and that seems to be the number one comment. A lot of people don't understand that music is copyrighted. If you use music that someone owns RU-vid will take down your video. Not everyone has the same taste in music. I'm sorry Jim that you don't like the music I chose but why say anything? Use the mute button and move on.
