Yeah, I miss my '68. 327 , 3 on the tree. Blew #5 piston thru the wall into oatmeal!! Then rebuilt a "one year only" 262 from a '75 Nova and she ran another 5yrs, until I sold her. They were great trucks. And you could do almost anything with/to them!

I happily would pick this over 1980 Silverado any day. What a piece of art!

The only drawback on these is that long bed. You don't want to shorten it, because you don't want to destroy the originality of it.

Looks like it has an earlier tailgate on it, and used to be an automatic. cool truck!

truck still has auto gear selector indicator and that's all the time I had to watch video--leading me to believe it was an auto. You must of done a swap and left the collar from the auto. on the column. Ya wanna know a quick fix, compared to all the work of taking that dang collar off an auto. and getting a 4-speed collar??? I just took my 3" die grinder with a 1/16th inch thick disc and nicely shaved it right off the top of the column. Then take a couple tablespoons of body filler (I used Napa ) and fill in the hole, sand with #60 and take it too #300, spray with Napa body filler/primer and paint the color of your truck. Jim
