NICE TO SEE THE OLD GIRL BACK OUT INTO THE SUNLIGHT!! YOU GOTTA LOVE THAT PENALTY BOX!!! GOT ALOT OF MEMORIES FROM THE CABIN CRUISER DAY"S!! BACK IN THE 70"S, WITH THE RIGHT MIRROR YOU COULD BE ON THE WEST COAST FROM PA IN 54 HRS!!GREAT VIDEOS WAYNE!! KEEP THEM COMMING!!!!
It would be so nice seeing this gem restored to it's original glory, referring to the picture from the dealership, but even just having it running is nothing short of awesome.
Had to laugh about the hardware shortage, glad to see I am not the only one that occasionally fails at basic math and memory skills. The truck is a great old survivor, I will have to see it in person on of these days. Thanks for the videos and laughs.
Been following this every step of the way since it came into your hands from my home state in Maryland… used to drive by the truck all the time with 5 gallon buckets sitting on the stacks not knowing there was a mountain of a motor under the cab
Yup!!! Actually the pictures I have of it the buckets had been there so long the bottoms broke out of the buckets and they were halfway down the stacks! Ha!
I hear you Steven, I get so torn between making it look exactly like it did when it was brand new in that picture or just doing mechanical and presenting as a survivor.
Classic truck when there classic men who became legendary in the trucking Industry...no fear of work and getting down and dirty...love the rig..great job
Wayne, every time you call yourself an idiot, trust me you're not alone. Unlevel ground, not getting enough hardware, I sit here and go "yep, I would totally pull a bone headed move like that." You're not alone, you're only human, but taking it in stride is what makes it cool. If anything, consider yourself stunned like Willard, Ziptiesnbiasplies dog 😂 Keep it up man, always enjoy your videos. Thanks again for making them for us all to enjoy.
Wayne I am on my 3rd def an pace maker I dropped a pot of very very hot water on my foot I have been to the Augusta ga burn center 5 times I have got to go back there next if not no better they might have to cut some skin off with a Lazer hope not see you in the next one buddy hope you an your family have a great week end buddy
Oh, man! Been waiting to see the Detroit 12V Pete 352 running again and work on its restoration continuing. Only bought enough hardware to do one side? Glad to know I'm not the only one who does things like that!
You really didn't see very many of them extended sleeper cabovers in the mid 1970s. Peterbilt and maybe Kenworth were the only ones at first. That baby was the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham of Road Tractors, in its day and after! And most exhaust stacks were like what you've got there. Chrome seemed more common on conventionals. Them Natties ain't got any flavoring in them do they? I'm not trusting those bright colors on that can. I usually go for the Beast Ice in a tall boy. With a Two Stroke, the more cylinders you add, the more relaxed the engine sounds when loaded.
Hey Dan thanks she sure is a cowboy Cadillac. When this truck came from factory the entire exhaust was chrome, and we will bring it back eventually. In an early episode there is a picture of the truck when it was brand new. Them Naturdays are strawberry lemonade flavor lol delicious
Wayne you have Armstrong sterring now a long time a go the whites an some macks did not have power steering or air condition I miss driving a truck more each day but heart trouble took care of that on my 3rd defibrillator love you Pete's buddy take care hope you an your family are doing great
Wayne nice seeing the Pete again and hearing the old V12 Detroit sing 🙂 Check out Big Bud, it's a tractor powered by a 16V92T. The thing is a BEAST! They have it running @ 1,100 HP! Twin Turbos!
Watched this again trying to place the V12 sound in music and the late Dan Seals song and video circa late 80s Big Wheels in the Moonlight keeps coming to mind. As is how cool it must have been back in the heyday of Big Bertha and the unique rhythm of that engine. Super Unique!!! If you are ever in a bind for any kind of fasteners we have a place nearby that has any and every bolt screw nut and washer known to man. Stainless and otherwise lemme know.
Steel hauler's exhaust. No need for tall pipes with a flatbed, plus steel loads up inside the steel plant sometimes with an overhead crane and less chance of tall pipes getting hit by a slung bundle and lax crane operator. Plus, had to drive into the building through doors, so several benefits to having short stacks.
Hi from uk Wayne👋👍 man did you see the cabover squinting on her way out the hide 😂😙 lol great to see her out and little stretch of her legs too and getting some love👌 gotta start somewhere on them and getting cab to stop flipetyflopping all over is good start hope linkage works bit better too 👍 thanks for your time and be safe see you soon👍👋
@@Ol2Stroker mostly the little things make the difference between like and loving the drive 👍 cant wait to see how she progresses tho 👌also I think as got nice shiney truck this one leave in her overalls and just make it mechanically sound (preventative maintenance) and a good driver leave her as she looks tho 👌
That thing is RAD Wayne !! I love cabovers. I got my license in a '74 Cabover Mack with manual steering and a 5 speed. It was in no way as Sexay as your Pete.
@@Ol2Stroker I guess I left out that was back in 89. I'd love to find something old to pull my Farmall pullers with. The F350 does it great but the "cool" factor just ain't there.
On a more serious note, I used to own an L9000 ford with an 8v71 that had a bad habit of catching the accelerator pedal under the edge of the doghouse at the most inconvenient times…. Made for some interesting moments at the crests of hills here in WV 😫
DAMM WAYNE IS THAT RIG EVER A GEM WOW SO ICONIC. GETTIN ME SOME MUDFLATS YO WAYNO.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 AWESOME JOB ON THAT CAB MOUNT PEOPLE NEED THOSE 💯% 4IFE. GREAT JOB ON EVERYTHING ACTUALLY. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR SUCCES.
@@Ol2Stroker I definitely agree with you! That '73 is stunning and should not be hacked up. I'd just love to see a COE Detroit sled pull truck project on your channel. Love the content!!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone ever told you that sound like lt mclane from the films?? Definitely a hint of young Bruce Willis there bud 😂 not a judgement by any stretch though bud, love the videos
F Yeah, Favorite Rig gets some Wayne time, and we get a ride along! So it's called Big Bertha, another watcher calls it Screen Door (nice) but I call it "12 Pack Pete". 🤟
@@Ol2Stroker would be stoked to the core if made official! Perhaps subject matter in an episode...got my swag order in at website, was real easy to do - Thx!
@@Ol2Stroker I literally showed my dad that part of video today. He doesn't get my diesel illness AT ALL but belly laughed like me when ya said that... CUZ WE ALL ARE PROBABLY THE PROBLEM!
