Seeing this ol gal running, being Petercar, and Detroit brings back many memories. First truck I sat in at age of 5 was a truck similar to this! Getting a WOODY!

Sounds like a few injectors are loose I had five of those v 12s they are awesome I had all k w s and they all had 8 speed automatics in them drove like a car they were all 1972 models too Allison autos awesome set up for hauling over weight over width loads that's all we did ,,good job on bertha fantastic work my man

When I was in the seventh grade, I rode on an old 1979 crown school bus. I do not remember if it had a 6V 71 or a V 12 in it, but that 352 reminds me exactly of that old crown school bus. I love listening to these old Detroit run.

Hey if u do change the injectors see if you can find someone to rebuild them and change the tips to the 8 spray holes instead of the 6 spray holes on the nozzle tips ,it qq I'll give you about 5 cc s more fuel per cylinder and use the white tag injector settings when flagging them it will make the horse power come up to Lmost 500 if I remember right and it will have throttle response like you would not believe actually brings the fuel mileage up ,also put a turbo on it or 2 lol it will get u over 500 H P EASY but u really have to watch the temps then I love these old v 12 s ,it's hard to explain untill you own your first one incredible power is possible from these old Detroit's on steroids lol keep on wrenching

Wayne, I’ve never heard a V12 sound that quiet, fuckin’ sweet. I bet a lot of that stuff, gauges etc…, will come back to life with use. They’re probably just stuck from no use. Lights coming on was pretty cool.

The reason it's the quietest V-12 you ever heard is 'cause currently it's a straight six. Can't wait till it's running on all 12. But 6 out of 12 is progress. Can't wait for the next episode. These v-12s are such unique engines.

Big Bertha sounds like a Beast!

I agree with you about a tune up. You can definitely hear it knocking. Sounds more prevalent on the passenger side. It does have a steady idle when it's warmed up. Don't worry about brakes. They're optional 🤗.

D2 governor on that compressor looks a bit crispy. also should be around 14v while charging, as you know. Thanks Bud! Keeper going!

V12s are kinda picky.. I couldn't throttle the one I had AT ALL for at least 5 minutes or she would load up and spit fuel everywhere.. sometimes it took her 20 minutes on a cold winter morning..

Soon it will sing a beautiful song. Squashing bugs. Chasing that white line.

Nice!! I think a lot of us are falling in love with Big Bertha (my grandmothers name was actually Bertha). Can't wait to see what you find with the tuneup and when you get into the air compressor. It didn't sound right when you had the hose off, a little too...rattley but perhaps that was the camera. Keep it up!

Your passenger window is an electric window for sure I could see where the electric motor would be. It is under that cover in the middle of the door that looks like a arm rest. Oops, forgot in my excitement: looks like BB has a Kysor radiator shutter fitted. The thermostat for it might need a look-at, and the mechanism that opens and closes the shutter blind slats can gum-up with dirt/age and stick closed. A dose of jet-wash might free it up 🙂

With all the lights added to trks need second alternator extra amperage. Every time I work on air leaks , just so I can hear em . I run air hoses from shop about 150 feet so I don’t have any competing noise . Then spray bottle full of soapy water leaks can’t hide then

Check all your breakers and fuses. Positive and negative cable connections contacts for corrosion 9 times out of 10 that's going to be your problem.

I would ve guessed the right side is working more by the smoke pattern when teased. I was going to say as a thought originally that won't do anything if the switch on the dash is off. By cheating the starting system would say that. N yea l9ve it when things come together.
