You've not had fun in the shop until you've finished an oil change, go to start it up only to discover you forgot to put the oil fill cap back on. Then all you see is an oil fountain and a huge mess to clean up. Cheers my Good Man! Sean~
Been there and done that at Eliminator Performance Zippo but do not believe oil will shoot out of the oil fill cap when the temperature is 29 F below zero , what do you think?
@@waynestefinashen239 At those temps, I would hope a much thinner oil like 20W is being used Or a 5W20 would be even better. That thin an oil would exit the oil fill in a fountain. If 30W is in it, I'm guessing the oil would still be pushed out. Just not in as dramatic a fashion.
that was the best when you tried to fire it up ,oh my goodness i start laughing everytime i think of it thanks for your videos i appreciate you and the time you put in to them
gee that snowblower was as old as the first lawnmower I used and it was a Tecumseh Eager 1. always started. in the end before I moved out circa 1998 ( it was my father's ) it had trouble restarting when hot. but it would start eventually.
Bruce, another great show brother 👏 i had an old Jacobson that when I moved up north I gave it to my friend. I couldn't sell it and it was in awesome shape. That was about 2 years ago 😂 My friend still uses it . That blower out last them all 😅 thanks for 34:14 sharing brother 🙏
Wow, cool old machine! I had one very similar to it a long time ago. I think that it was called a "Snow Hog" or something similar. Bummer on not doing big snowblowers this year, but I get it.
Thanks. We had a bunch the day we left (4 days ago( We heard it is melting. Some cities got some and other got nothing at all. Edmonton hardly got anything.
Bruce I am sure you know this but the idle mixture screw should be installed carburetor right side up. There is a piece that can be damaged if installed when up side down. The carbs that if you open the throttle plate have about a 3/16 hole to the left bottom. My first snowblower was a big old single stage
Hey Bruce! it's been a couple or more years since I've watched your channel. I still do occasional small engine repair in my shop of course carbs are a routine with gas like it is. What cleaner do you like to use in your ultra sonic? I just fill mine with water and use what ever I think is best for each job in a freezer bag and drop the bag in the water and bleed the air out of the bag a few times during the soak. I like white vinegar mostly but sometimes I need more power and I will use muriatic or phosphoric at about 50% dilution for rusted steel parts. I'm still searching for how to clean aluminum parts the way a factory rebuilt carb was back in the day when our cars had them. I'm thinking about trying soda blasting in the sand blast cabinet, I heard it washes out good with water so it won't clog small passages.
I use about a cup of simple green with the 3 liter solution. The simple green i have has no ammonia. which turns the aluminum black. I think anything that cleans works OK. Thanks for commenting..
Just wondering when you are going to show your friend Benny on one of your videos? Nice job on an older snowblower Bruce loved the part with the smoke when your fired it up. Funny how many of us stand on the muffler side when we fire them up, good thing it was smoke and not flames eh?
somehow that little basket of misc parts jumped from your bench and into the UltraSonic. It wasn't there when you first put the parts in, and came out with the parts !!
I flushed the airconditioning system in our vehicle the flush fluid smelled like alcohol. The left over if container doesnt totally seal goes empty over time
Just a correction, because we are friends Bruce lol, Single Stage is called a Thrower because the paddles Throw snow up through the shoot., 2 stage is a blower because it feeds via auger to a fan which Blows the snow up the chute. Am I anal? A stickler?, Guess so!
Sounds like a technical issue to me Kenny boy, us Canadians do not like to get too technical just mechanical eh? Plus Bruce just wanted to smoke out any animals or insects before he left for Mexico.
Too many of them out there still running to hate them and one of the best cold weather engines on snowblowers ever made. Extremely rare to find one with a broken connecting rod yet B&S has that common issue besides the ACR failures.
