I find removing the switches easier as well I use a piece of wire or a very thin wire tie to hold the stack in order loosely. Then I use a Dremel with a small wire brush to polish contacts followed by a Q tip with alcohol I use a thin wooden coffee stirrer as a drift pin to line up holes for the screws when re assembling

This is how I do it as well. Takes the same time and you can see it. Plus I've found loose rivets this way.
