1975 Honda CR250 

The 1974 MT 250 was the road registrable version being equipped with head light and tail light. The 1974 CR 250 M1 Model had a more aggressive power band and performed better than the MT, as it was the racing motocross version. When I was a young lad 11,12,13 years of age I had a 1974 CR 125 M1 with FMF POWER PIPE and after market high compression cylinder head. Upgraded FMF RACING REAR SHOCKS. My friend had the 1974 MT 125. It had the up pipe but was a lot more docile in the power range. Both great classic bikes MT Built for road trail, and of course the CR Built for smokin hot racing and motocross. Basically you could refer to the MT HONDA AS A YAMAHA DT and the CR AS A YAMAHA YZ. But the year manufacturing model numbers were 1974-M1,1975-M2,1976-M3,1977-M4. And then of course the mighty CR - R MODEL Was born. God bless.

At least the CR kick lever is on the right side and the shaft is lower and primary kick. But most importantly the kick lever doesn't come to an abrupt stop on the left foot peg like on my 71 Bultaco Pursang 350, that'll make your foot hurt when it's not in the mood to crank in 2 or 3 kicks, believe me.

Young guys and gals have no idea how good they have it with a foot of very adjustable suspension travel they have now and hydraulic clutches and electric start. They couldn't begin to ride a vintage bike aggressively without crying.
