In the UK this bike is often referred to as a "Kettle". This is due to liquid cooling on a motorcycle being incredibly rare in 1974.

These were sold as reliable long distance tourers which they did very well. The GT250 twin were the young kids hooligan bike competing with other 17 y/o 250's in the UK like the RD/KH. Then you got to 18-19 y/o and bought the GT 380 or 550 air cooled triples which were wonderful motorcycles. A great decade for bikes.

Lack of torque on 2T's was a misconception. Little off road 125's and mx 250's yes. But a lot of the road bikes 350 and up made great torque all round. This was the start of reed valves and before power valves.

Those motors ran so cool that SUZUKI removed the cooling fan because customers complained the fan never came on

Nearly killed myself on my big bro's Orange Waterbottle. Way overweight for such skinny forks. Modern bikes are much better. Don't give it to your kids/grandkids.
