The art that you like on this pinball machine is exactly why i like collecting older romance comics(especially from DC and Marvel).

Thank you sooo much for sharing! My parents had this pinball machine and pics of the grandkids with their scores ❤ then I had it, now my son has it in his game room! A lot of great memories!

This was my first pinball game. You were right going for the saucer. The key to this game is when the ball goes down the bottom left green side, hold the flipper up so the ball rolls to the right side flipper, then you can get it back up to the top. My favorite game. My kids love this one too.

It must be a great experience to get to play so many different pins as they pass through the shop. You must love your job.

That backglass art is AMAZING! It's basically identical to Brunswick's Gold Crown line of equipment which was made in the late 50's and into the 60's so that really would be the look of a LOT of centers when this was new. Amazing to see such detail, what an awesome table!!

Yeah they really did a fantastic job on the artwork, really catches the vibe I think. Thanks for watching Rep2369!

Pretty neat game, some of these underappreciated EM's are very cool!

A bar had this game in the early 80s and it was fun to play. after about a year the game would malfunction, and at times when you get the extra ball it would stay on the extra ball and the game would not turn the 'same player shoots again" light off, and the credits would accumulate (you actually had 2 games for a quarter, and if the credit reel was on 1 credit it would suddenly reel up to about 8 credits) and of course I spend at least an hour playing it. One kid who was also a regular customer there along with his parents, would tell me to push the credit button to turn off the shoot again light since that was probably the only option. I also seen this game on the original Police Academy movie where the riot starts and a patron punched another patron in the bar and the patron, who was punched was also pushed out the back door. Once he was out the door his back hit the machine, which was on a 4-wheeled dolly, causing it to roll down the alley and crossing through an intersection hitting a curb causing it one of the legs breaking and it ended up leaning to the left. also breaking the glass and other damage done. That was one of my favorite scenes in that movie.

This was my first pinball machine purchase. Love the artwork, just wish back glass replacements were easier to find. Mine was in really bad shape.
@LyonsArcade

Yeah the backglass problems are the hard part on any of these... the playfield can be fixed up pretty nicely and the cabinet repainted but the backglass is hard to make look nice if it's destroyed....

I played this game in 1972 in San Carlos, CA. No doubt in my mind. that It was the same name and the same playfield, but I don't remember the backglass. I know for sure that it was a Williams, unless they had another bowling theme pin with the same play field earlier than this one in the video. Thanks for the video.

Operators would pull the coin mechs out when they sold a game so you wouldn’t route the machine and cut into their territory. Just a fun fact on why they don’t have mechs.

Harry Williams came out of retirement and worked for Stern Steve Kordek was indeed legendary and churned out a lot of games. But I reckon Norm Clarks designs from the same period were far superior than old Mr "Snordek" ;)
@LyonsArcade

That's right, it was Harry Williams who did Flight 2000! I always seem to get Kordek's stuff and don't get much of Norm's stuff :)

hey man any videos online how to take off this style backglass?
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 4 года назад
I don't think there's any videos, but if you take the back door off on the head, there are a couple bars at the top that slide towards the back of the head, if you slide them forward they sit over the top of the backglass and won't allow it to come out. If you slide them towards the back of the head, you can pull up on the backglass on the front and it'll slide up into the top of the head and allow you to pull it out.

Christian Marche didn't originate the 'pointy people' look. That was Jerry Kelley. Marche was definitely more versatile and was more known for that style. Also, Ed Krynski and Wayne Neyens (both Gottlieb) each designed way more games than Steve Kordek.

Normally, you can slap / push the plunger with the palm of your hand rather than pulling it to get a higher launch velocity. On a game like this, you'll get more horizontal back and forth action that drops the ball into the hole more frequently. The tilt sensor is looking more for side to side motion, so slapping the plunger generally won't tilt.

I had this as a child for a good six or seven years. It was an excellent game for kids - very innocent and lots of fun. I have to say that watching you play it was quite painful :D You don't catch and hold the ball on the flipper, slowing the ball down for more control. You did have a bit of bad luck though. :D What happened to this machine now this video is almost four years old?

I won this game in a drawing and one of the drops is broke in half, any idea where i can find a replacement? And do i need a rivet tool or whats the best way to fix it? thanks a bunch dude =)
@LyonsArcade
@LyonsArcade 4 года назад
Were those the metal ones? That's the kind of thing you're going to have to find used off a parts machine unfortunately, there may be some on ebay, or if you post a wanted ad on pinside.com an old timer probably has some on their stash of parts somewhere they'll sell you. I'd just swap the whole part instead of trying to replace the face.
