I am looking forward to seeing the tube stiffing members and how they are connected to the suspension. I have always found this type of fabrication unbelievably difficult due to the space restrictions and desired final cosmetic appearance. The new intakes look amazing and they are not even finished.
Love the build, Joe. I had to lay mine up due to some unfortunate circumstances but live in hope of getting it going again. I'm very interested to see your chassis stiffening plans, as I'd like to do something similar. I have rebuilt the front suspension with Series 3 elements, rear suspension is a 96 XJS with outboard brakes and all with Rob Beere stiffer springs so would like to get it as tight as possible, without killing the street ride and stiffening the chassis seems like a necessary route - particularly as my car also has a sun roof. Wouldn't mind permanently opening up access between the trunk and cabin, too, though I love the traditional XJC rear seat and don't think it would fold very well. I also agree that the Jaguar V12, while a great engine, sounds a bit agricultural at low RPM. I'm not sure what can be done to fundamentally change that other than altering the engine firing order, but the guy I'll link below in Australia has it figured out for open exhaust. I'd love to find a way to be whisper quiet when at low RPM or when at cruising speed - particularly as I've been know to drive up to 2,000 km/1,200 miles in a day on trips cross Canada (and, hopefully in the future, the US, as well - as that's my goal for my build - a great GT car) but would also love to have it open up with that true V12 sound when you get into the upper half of the rev band. Thanks Mike. Yea the sound thing is important to me. I have had Front engine Ferrari and the sound is always rewarding. I have an idea for this build with the 6.0 V12. Will have to see if it works out.
