Made up for 4 non winning years against Buckeyes. Oddly enough 73 to 81 Michigan only beat Ohio State once in Ann Arbor. No wonder I correctly picked the upset of Michigan in 81. 😆 🤔 😂 🤷 🤣 😹
The week leading up to the game there was a debate of who should start at QB for Ohio State, Jim Pacenta or Rod Gerald. Pacenta started. Pacenta started in the Orange Bowl and after Ohio State fell behind 10-0, Woody Hayes brought in Rod Gerald and Ohio State ran away winning 27-10.
Bo vs Woody with goofy Bob Ufer. I used to listen to away games on the radio while I did my laundry. I think, but I'm not sure, that Ufer is responsible for the famous line, "see the flood of maize and blue come". Ufer describes Leach as delicate, but he was a big guy. Leach hardly got to pass, and he wasn't very good at it. These Big 10 running teams would get demolished by the Pac 10 in the Rose Bowl. The Pac 10 had this funny play called the pass, LOL.
The play by play guy is laughable. He is like so corny and over the top. It's like he is a caricature or cartoon of an old time announcer. Lol... Boomer Sooner!
B. Frogface41s His name is Bob Ufer, a Michigan legend. This was actually a relatively calm Michigan-Ohio State game for him. Check out this play call from the 1973 game. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0RCLQcNgHYk.html
'76 was a down year for Ohio State, and Woody should've retired after the '75 season. He was clearly in decline the last few years. Bad choices for our QB's during 1976-78. They were not very good.
