Looks like you are in for some fun times re-imagining Eddie. When I turned 50 we bought a parcel of remote access land near Algonquin park and began building an off grid cabin. 7 years later it’s still a work in progress. I now wished I had documented each part of the build. But, we’re enjoying the journey.

Awesome! I can share some experiences to elevate your "Drenalin" to complete this project. My wife and I have a 16' travel trailer. We bought our trailer new. My share is not about a rebuild, it has to do with end use. We tow this thing everywhere. We had 16" BFG KO2 tires put on the trailer to give us far more peace of mind when navigating off-road travel. Our tow vehicle also has KO2 tires. We can access a lot of remote trail heads for hiking and mountain biking and kayak launches. It doesn't take up any more space than two vehicles (we unhitch and park next to it) which is not uncommon when a group of friends meet at a trail head or at a launch site traveling in their own vehicles. That was a important to us. We know how tight parking is from years and years of outdoor trips, and we wanted to be absolutely certain that we weren't using too much space. Here are the HUGE! pluses. You get a great sleep right there in the parking area the night before you head out on the trail or the water. You wake to a nice hot shower, a big breakfast, and everything is dry to begin the trip. After a few days, we return to the trailer, we take a hot shower, we have a nice dinner, we get another great sleep in a bed, and we restock provisions and set out, again. It's wonderful. You can enjoy remote camping, yet you have this small but fully functional base camp to return to for a personal recharge and restock, or a relocation to a different area to enjoy a new exploration and a new experience. Add solar to the set-up, and it gets even better. I highly recommend that you focus on the tires and the tire size. Get the biggest that you can for clearance. Every inch helps and an A/T tire makes a big difference. Very Much looking forward to your completed project and the many videos ahead where you have the trailer in tow. Safe Travels!

I rebuilt a trailer to create a canoe/kayak trailer. I got carried away and ended up spending much more than anticipated. Wheels, bearings, axel, and frame can be expensive. It would be a good idea to learn how to weld! I would also recommend finding used parts if possible. Good luck!

I built a small camper starting with a trailer I bought off of Northern Tool. I think you'd be better off [money wise] starting with a new utility trailer as opposed to buying new axle, springs, tires and having the frame repaired. You could use some of the metal and other parts off of this camper. I like this style of camper though.

Great project Scott. A couple of idea's if you have to replace the platform frame make the material from aluminum or steel and get it hot dipped galvanized. Also have dropped axles for more ground clearance for those tougher spots to get into. Lastly put a 8"- 10" wall on the frame to set the original box on top of. A little more head room. Sounds like alot of fun. Enjoy

Gave me a good idea, I bought a 1980 motorhome last summer, I'm living in it right now. I want to know how cold it gets in here, so far it's only been down to -30 C and it hasn't been bad. Yes it was cold, but not bad. I have to replace the roof on it, it leaks. I'm thinking the bathroom will need work. I didn't want to gut it, but I think I wont have a choice. I want to live in it for a long time, planning on going to the west coast in spring. Want to meet Greg Ovens, 😂😂😂😂 I dont really like Ontario, never did, 😂😂 I will be watching your videos to get new ideas. A wood stove is a must for off grid ( before the government out laws it too )
