Jesus Christ... It's hard to fathom how much this impacted black people as a whole. It's very sad to think of how many people had to suffer for us to be anywhere close to getting it right.
ONLY Private Slavery was eliminated by the US Government - as outlined in the 13th Amendment: Neither Slavery nor involuntary servitude - EXCEPT - as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Slavery/Involuntary Servitude continued after April 1865, in parts of the South. To help stop Blacks gaining wealth, the implementation of the Minimum Wage of which caused Whites to be hired more so, and in better jobs. Also, Black men are more likely to be Tried for non-existent crimes OR minor are increased in their convictions and the number of years they are given - is unequal with others in the same position.
Some might misunderstand what blacks nean by family...For us...the so-called extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins and so on...all constitute the black family.

Some people don't want success....they want revenge and to steal from those they envy. Moynohan made the mistake of thinking their were similar morals amongst the poor.
He really was. The ''black family'' hadn't changed much between emancipation and the civil rights revolution. But black ppl _still_ faced the same societal problems, hint, it wasn't the ''black family structure''.
@@fbaallied You are very wrong. Prior to the Civil Rights movement. Black had among the highest marriage rates in the Western World. It was a shame at one point for women to have children out of wedlock. Too many of you don't want to admit to this because some of y'all love chaos and confusion.
@@thespiritualartofwar This is the point I was making. The black family was "intact" up until the 60s, but the social problems existed also up until that too. Ain't no way you can use the "illegitimate" argument.
